Regrettably, this being the internet, all I can give you in return is this slice of pie. <|
But really, thanks!
No worries.
Although, seriously, if anyone reading this has a neogaf account, could you post it there. Diggs would be ace too, I am pretty sure I have the only blog post of it on the internet, and this is the kind of thing that can get you serious traffic.
I'm sorry I can't help LewieP, I forgot my password and NeoGaf doesn't recognize my e-mail when I ask for the password :?

I was about this on Gaf but apparently my account is still not activated to allow for posting new topics. Sorry man.
Cue 5,000 people trying to ebay cd keys and learning a harsh lesson about supply and demand, just like the PS3 ebayers and the 2$ wavebird-in-a-bag ebayers
What's the wavebird-in-a-bag story?
Funny story; I had a roommate who camped out three days to buy two PS3's. He was originally going to ebay one of them, but was offered 1700 dollars for one right as he left the store. Fortunately, he accepted.
Also, if you are reading page 78 of the penny-arcade forum Steam/Source thread, chances are high you are a PAer.
Or that you stumbled across it in Google.
Seeing as Google indexes these forums.
Just sayin'.
Apparently I missed out on the big giveaway, though. Oh well.
EDIT: I picked up Mount and Blade, though, so I think I'm covered for gaming for a while. Especially since I still keep winding up with zombie bitches up on my jock nightly.

I grabbed two extra keys for my brothers because these things always go down before I can tell them about it. If one of them doesn't want the key, which there is a high chance of, I'll toss you the 2nd one.

That'd be awesome.
Oh, I thought they just stopped it.
Instead, it's just been DDoS'd by the entire internet
Yeah, that's what I meant. I figure their server is nothing but a smoking hulk by now, but I have little doubt that if they ever get their server back up, they won't be giving out keys anymore.
The site bgamer.pt is up now, but the page where you obtained the CD-Keys is "Manutencao." at a guess this means it's under maintenance, so it looks like they've shut it down now.

I made a gift purchase of Mount & Blade for my brother, and I hope he enjoys it too. Him and I used to love playing Sid Meyer's Pirates back in the day. I'm sure his PC can handle it -- it's an old AMD 2500+ with a Radeon 9600XT video card.

What's the wavebird story? I tried Googling it and the first hit was the post I'm quoting.

A while back, a few months after the Wavebird releases, someone here at PA discovered that Best Buy was selling Nintendo promo bags (or something like that) for about 2$. Clearly it was old stock meant to be moved out or was bundled with other items.
Well, when they got home, they found a new Wavebird inside of it.
They immediately went back and checked the store. Every single bag had Wavebirds in it. So they bought like, I don't know, 15 of them.
Well, it eventually got out to the internet and EVERYONE started buying them, until Best Buy found out what was going on a few days later and pulled them.
And then about a few days later, eBay was flooded with new Wavebirds.
Needless to say, a lot of people ended up only making about 5$ on their Wavebird, if they even sold it at all.
Well used Wavebirds are selling for like $30 right now.
Really? Fuck, they were only about $20 new by the end of the console's life (that's what I paid for both of mine). I rarely play my Cube anymore...hmmm.....

This is also kinda funny. It's happened to me a few times over in D&D, too.
Update on the Dark Messiah CD-Key: It's not under maintenance anymore, but this message appears now -
The BGamer No. 127 is to offer a game the Dark Messiah of Might & Magic.
Due to problems of traffic, if need the CD-Key to play Dark Messiah of Might & Magic in multiplayer will have to send an email to [email protected]. Do not forget to specify the username with which they are registered on our site.

It seems like they're more worried about bots (they've also added a captcha to the registration page). But I've not tried sending an email so I'm not sure if they're taking any other measures to prevent those who haven't bought the magazine from getting the key.
Im running Vista Home Premium with a geforce8800gt
I verified the game integrity, deleted the client registry.blob file and renamed the filesystem_steam.dll file to get it to redownload. None of that worked.

There's a bug which breaks the game about halfway through, which Valve introduced (and was made aware of) in mid-October. Still not fixed.
Kinda annoying.
I can't actually test it because I already had the game.

I also think they learned a valuable lesson here.
A lesson delivered by rampaging barbarian hordes.
Thanks for the notification.
Damn you sleep! I could have gotten the code otherwise!
Gracias. I was wondering why the Steam thread had jumped like 9 pages overnight. Now I know.
Edit; also, accept my friend request!
