Another week, another 7 days of new game releases!
Welcome to the 43 edition of G&T's newly traditional "Weekly Games Release Thread!" - Week 12/14 - 12/20!

So, the week is pretty mediocre as the year winds down and the holidays come up.
The
Wii and PS2 finally get Rock Band 2 -- the Wii version is said to be fully featured and competitive, not lacking any key modes and supporting DLC. Dunno about the PS2 vsn.
WiiWare sees the
new Strong Bad as well, should be good/funny/excellent as the others.
uhmmmmmmmmm.........
Rise of the Argonauts is coming out for 360/PS3/PC? No idea what it is.
NOTE -- C.O.R.E. for Nintendo DS has been moved to this week (or maybe even later) from last. It should be a good Quake-like FPS for the NDS. If you're into those things. Like me.

More than a few of us here at Penny Arcade have followed what little information could be found regarding your development with cautious hope. It sounds like you've got a lot of really good ideas, and lord knows you deal a story not often exploited for gaming gold. This winter has been fraught with awesome released, and you're up against them all - it'll be tough - but I have a request.
Please don't suck. If you could not suck, and be a really good western action-RPG, that would be super-swell!
Hoping to hear from you soon,
-Chance
Yeah it'll probably suck.
There ya go.
I'm at least waiting for some of the bigger sites to get it. Not for the scores, I've enjoyed enough that've been marked down and I'm just not that shallow, but to at least see what comments and criticisms there are and compare them across a few sources.
I agree with Chance's letter, it doesn't look like having much hope this Christmas, but I just want it to not suck.
Metacritic lists a single 71% PC Games Germany review, with the standard single-paragraph summary...
I knew I shouldn't have sent that letter by post. My warning came too late!
Edit: still, 70 isn't exactly bottom-of-the-bucket, if that turns out to be the average. I have one or two treasured members of my PS2 library that didn't break 80%
Guys, het praten! So bought.
Again, wait and see. There's reviewers who dismissed Prince of Persia's characters as rubbish, and were utterly, utterly wrong.
Sounds like these guys wanted God of War III, which isn't out for some time yet.

OH NO YOU DI'N'T!
MPH controlled awesome, but some people get the Claw. Understanable.
COD4 controlled similarly but wasn't as fast-paced so it reduced any claw-like syndrome.
I hope CORE has at least similar controls as either of these games. 'Cus I don't get metroid claw.

Basically, they said if you're a big Greek mythology fan and are forgiving of its flaws, it's an okay rental. Not exactly a stirring recommendation.

"If you are so blinded by your undying love of all things Greek mythology that you won't be able to tell or care that the game sucks, then by all means buy it."
