So tomorrow I'm getting surgery to get my tonsils removed, my deviated septum fixed, and my
turbinates reduced.
I've stocked up on soft foods, jello, and sherbet for during the recovery. I'm kinda nervous, but this is probably something I should have had done quite a while ago. But I just hit my deductible on my health insurance, so it's gonna be a helluva lot cheaper now.
My tonsils have always been pretty huge. They're also very full of cracks and crevices that fill up with crap and give me tonsil stones that I have to hack up out of my throat now and then.
For the turbinates and septum, I've never been able to breathe well through my nose. It's not impossible, but if I am breathing through my nose for a while, I have to stop and then take a big deep breath through my mouth. When I get hit strongly with allergies, the sinus pressure is almost unbearable.
My dad had a similar procedure done before I was born and he said it made a world of difference for him.
This is my third surgery to date. The other times were when I got my wisdom teeth out and that time I had cancer.
What kinds of operations have you had?

Not gonna lie, it kinda sucked for awhile and I need to stay over at the hospital. But, it's very much worth not having them try to kill me every 3-4 months.
Good luck, Dude.
Except for the fact that I had to go back to the emergency room ten hours later because I have yet to pee. Getting a catheter is the worst thing thats ever happened to.
I hope you don't die.
Fuck them

I've never had to be operated on but I have been in the hospital before for a car accident. That was certainly an interesting day.
Yeah, I've got an overnight stay. If it was just the septum and turbinates, it'd probably be outpatient.
Apparently with the current cost of the Canadian health care system I'm now the $6,000,000 man. That little plastic junk they sew in had to be hand crafted by overpaid union workers you know
me too!
Good luck man.
Pectus Excavatum it's called and the original operation consisted of opening up the entire chest cavity, breaking every rib to tie a metal bar as a replacement sternum.
That pretty much lead to horrible complications and was a terrible operation all around.
Then this guy named Dr. Donald Nuss asked the question, "Well why the hell couldn't we just make two small incisions and slip a bar inbetween the ribs?" It was a fucking amazing thing as now it is the main operation for such a problem.
It was the heaviest operation I've had(I've had my tonsels removed.) and spent 5 days in the hospital after spending less than an hour in surgery.
That bar stayed inside me for 4 years until the bone and cartilage around it was strong enough. I still have that bar...
It is in a little plastic bag.

you see i was on a certain dose of a medication, and the pharmacist filled my bottle with another much larger dose so i ended up getting really hyper for about 10 minutes and then passed out on my kitchen floor
and this is how robothero was able to afford college
That was pretty dumb. How did they know on Monday that they wouldn't have people in on Tuesday?
magics
I have had 4 eye teeth pulled (and I apparently bit the dentist in the middle of things) and a bone set but that's about it.
CRYING
were they disappointed
They had their flights booked and everything.
goddamn modern medicine
Holy crap keep me personally posted about the deviated septum part. It's been bugging me since forever and I am very interested in getting this done.
