Yep i'm an alt. My wife had issues with that for a long time, but has resolved them a few years ago. I'm not exactly sure which one of these options has really done it, but probably a combination of the (or at least the first 2) have pretty much stopped the problem completely.

    1. First and formost, stop using soap down there. Also nothing scented. Only water. Only only water. Not sure how bad that sounds to some, but according to her Gyno women are self regulating down there and all that is needed is water to flush things out. Any kind of soap or scented product causes YI's for women that experience this problem.
    2. Don't binge on sweets. My wife still eats sweets regularly, but she doesn't ever binge on sugar anymore. Having a bag full of cotton candy for instance might cause one to occur.
    3. With the additional information about your spoilered tag. Be sure that the methods of stimulation are not activating or helping create this situation more.

As far as your spoilered problem though, I am sorry I can't help. Our situation is pretty much exactly (like looking into a mirror of the problem) similar, and I don't have an answer myself.

ok you REALLY need to see a gyno. Even if when you have an appointment you don't currently have the yeast infection.

it's quite possible your hymen isn't fully broken. This could explain the pain of sex and you're constant yeast infections.

I had to same problem when i was younger and I ended up having to get it surgerically removed.

    Hi,

You need to have your boyfriend checked, there is a good possibility that he contracted the yeast from you, and he has no symptons. After you are cured, the cycle begins again and he could pass the infection to you, once again. All this only if you are not using condoms while having sex.

Keep in mind that treatment with cream is not enough when the infection is deep in the vagina, the medication called Fluconazole 150 mg (unique dosage) is used, but you need to avoid consuming alcohol for at least a week to avoid damage to your liver.

The medication can be used by your boyfriend too, but he needs to use an antifungal cream daily for a minimum of 4 weeks.

altymcalter is spot on about some things that can be done from what I've heard, and SmallLady's concern is definitely worth checking out.

If it's not a hymen issue though, and your vaginal passage is just narrow, you may be able to try a different sexual position, if you haven't already. (it sounds like you may have been here about that issue before though, so most likely someone suggested that back then... but I figured I'd mention it in case they didn't)

It's strange that you get them after your period because I've read that periods help to "flush you out", plus do something to the pH balance...though take that with a pinch of salt. It could be due to sanitary towels/tampons. If you're having heavy/lengthy periods, then you're going to be using them for several days at a time, which keeps it warm and unaired down there.

Are you on birth control, because that could reduce period time and make you feel better (if you're not on it), though conversely makes you more likely to develop yeast infections (if you are). Either way, try and make sure that you keep very clean, using just water several times a day, during your period.

Also, about the spoilered bit, how are you about doing things alone? I know you've probably tried a lot of things, but I know there are some special "widening" sticks that they give to women with vaginismus, I wish I knew what they're called, but basically they help to make you mroe comfortable with having something inside you, and help you to stretch a bit. (Anyone help me with the names of these?)

Stop wearing thongs, if you do. They are known to cause issues down below.

There's probably a medical term for them somewhere, but wikipedia simply refers to them as "medical dilators".

I have heard that tampons have an increased risk of issues too. Whatever I guess.

OK, this may sound gross, but it helps. After your period finishes, get a regular sanitary towel, not perfumed, and stick live natural yoghurt on it, and wear it. Change it frequently. It helps lots. Also, get treatment for your fiance as well, otherwise you could be passing the YI back and forwards. Also, don't use tampons.

triphasic pills (ones with a different dose every week) can increase chances of yeast infections. I used to be on ortho tricyclen and would get a YI pretty much every other month. It was hellish.
Same thing with nonoxynol9 for some women (the active ingredient in spermicide, which is also often used on condoms)... I'd get a YI without fail every time we did anything with spermicide, it was shiiiiitty

From your response Lizz, I'm guessing you guys aren't using condoms (from your worry that your boyfriend has YI and doesn't know it).

Have him switch to using condoms. Tell him it's for the purpose of clearing up the YI so things can get back to normal if he complains (because it is). Make sure he doesn't do any penetration or genital contact without that condom on, no ifs, ands, or buts. Then see if the YI comes back as it has been.

Increased estrogen can predisopose to candiasis, so you may consider that as a possible factor. Have you ever been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease or are you on any antibiotics? Are you diabetic, perchance?

Checking uptodate, and apparently there's a small percentage of the population (5-8%) that has a genetic predisposition to recurrent yeast infections as well.

This is a really, really, really good idea. No risk, dirt cheap.
