Ok, querry about an issue I have been having. PS3 version of RB2.
When playing set lists in World Tour the last couple of times my buddies came over. One RB1 wired drumset, 1 RB1 Strat, 1RB2 Strat. After a song or two, in the middle of a song, the game goes to a warning that a controller has disconnected. It has happened to each of us. Despite the controlled saying it is connected (the PS button is lit), it won't respond. To fix it we have to unplug the dongle/drumset and plug it back in and all is well. But, we basically miss the fist few notes when we come back in. This particularly sucked in the middle of a longest streak challenge.
This happened to anyone else? Or is my PS3 not playing nice?

Try turning off controller power-saving. I think it tries to turn off your dongles or something...

I wondered, but in the middle of playing? And it doesn't seem to (or hasn't yet) done it when i play solo. But I will give that a try next get together.

Well I know 100% that if you have controller power saving on then if you leave a guitar idle for a while you won't be able to turn it on without unplugging the dongle first... cause the PS3 "turns off" the dongle so it just stops working. I've had my RB1 drums do what you mention before too, but only once, so I'm mostly just guessing.

Worth a shot. Thanks for the idea!

Christ, more Barenaked Ladies. Let this be the floodgate, Harmonix.
Rumored release to be announced tomorrow:
The Canadian classic....
I still want to know where that ridiculous "about" pronunciation is supposed to come from... I know Canadians from all across the country and I've honestly never heard anybody say it like that in my life.

In the US, it's pronounced "a - bout." The "ow" sound is mandatory.
"A-boot" exists, though it's very rare in reality, but pronunciations closer to "a-but" or "a-boat" are super common. So -- an American's ears will pick up that the pronunciation is weird, but they might misinterpret as to how, and the stereotype probably just makes it more likely that they'll interpret it that way.
I have clearly spent waaaaaaaay too much time pondering this. ;-)

Canadians tend to pronounce it more like "a-bewt," whereas Americans are all "a-bau-t." The Canadian tendency to stretch out those long O's is a personal joke between me and my wife, whose former company merged with its Canadian counterpart. Like the word "process." Americans say it as "prah-sess," whereas Canadians tend to say it as "prew-sess."
To bring this back to something relating to music, this is where I wish I remember more about IPA.

But in Canada it's pronounced "a bout" too though, which is why that stereotype has always confused me. On any Canadian news channel or anything I've never heard it pronounced any differently than how I say it or how I hear it in US movies or whatever... *shrug*

What about "eh?" Does that have any basis in real life?

I've talked to people in wisconson that lay that on pretty thick.
I'm sure the portions of Canada near them have it as well.
Personally, I associate it more with Wisconson than I do Canadian though.
This may have been mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but Toys r Us also has a sweet deal for DSes (in Canada, at least). My father and I were shopping around for a pink one for me momma, and my Dad was unable to resist the alluring economical sense of the Toys r Us deal:
Buy any DS game for $19.99 and up, get a new DS for $100. This instantly shaves $10.00 off the price of a DS, and you essentially get the game for free. A fine deal if your loved one wants Brain Age!

'Chance, you are the best kind of whore.' -Henroid
the whole aboot thing made me think that all those north american verbal stereotypes were wrong and over exaggerated since i'd never heard a canadian actually pronounce it like that..then I worked at a call center briefly and talked to people in the southern US and holy shit I couldn't understand them at all. It's a scary unpredictable world we live in.
and back to rock band related, when your best announced christmas song is by the barenaked ladies you're doing it wrong =/

Yeah I say eh all the time. I think basically you guys say "huh" when we'd say "eh". Like "Good movie, eh?" as opposed to "Good movie, huh?"

I went to my parent's house to play rock band with my bro before I move away, and I finally got to play drums for the first time in like 6 months. It was GLORIOUS.
After listening to A Clean Shot so many times, I 5-starred it the first time on expert, having never really played much on expert.
Also, My Curse on Expert is also really fun. And..... Running Wild, and... I don't remember the other one I thought was really badass.
Mr. Brightside can DIAF though..

Can't wait to make all my non-Jewish friends play this song. So excited. I'll probably pick up the Christmas songs just for good measure.

Mostly the east coast.
This is exactly how I use it. I dont think its that big of an issue, its just the way I pass on the conversation.
I have 549 Rock Band Drum and 305 Pro Drum FC's

You can go die in a fire.
Although, I would probably have picked Elf's Lament(would've been more fun on drums and vocals) or Green Christmas, but this'll do great.
Be happy they didn't some crap like "Do They Know It's Christmas?" from ANYONE.
I don't think he was slagging on BNL...
He's slagging on both, but mostly on Harmonix.
I'm largely indifferent about the selected songs. Though I do hope this leads to more 'real' BNL later on.
It doesn't. The ad specifically states that it's for the 360 and PS3 versions.
I actually put requested this when I signed up for my 20 free songs.
