Yes, we can look forward to a very white-washed version of everyone's favorite fictional Asian world. When questioned about the unusual casting choices, the filmmakers responded, citing the unfortunate scarcity of Asians (particularly young, attractive, talented Asians) in the Western hemisphere. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to locate any Asians. It mattered little really, since Shyamalan has a recurring nightmare in which Asians douse him with mystical potions from the Orient. Originally the cast was going to be all black for the sake of Shyamalan's mental health, but they had as much difficulty locating black actors.

Even if they didn't look particularly Asian in the show, the white ensemble is going to look rather at odds with the obviously Asian architecture and setting.
