So what is Team Melee? As i've never witnessed one before.
I'm assuming its a combonation of Team Swords, Team Hammers, and maybe that one gametype that was played on halloween were you had plasma pistols, but only got points for melee kills.
so if you just didn't get my text over the cellphone, PAX pre-reg is up and they're actually limiting tickets with respect to available space this year.
I don't even know if I'll make it to PAX09 but I'm gonna buy a pre-reg ticket just in case. If I end up not going I'll just sell it to another TBKer for 20$

That's what I am doing. I am looking to rent a house, so I can hold TBKon in it, and if we have to pay 500$ rent we might as well pay that 500$ a month on a house. It's a pain in the ass to lock one down, sometimes I'm amazed that I got my current apartment.

an apartment inside of a 'complex' (one of those buildings with like 30 apartments)
I think at bare minimum, it will need to be a duplex.

TeaParty and I are planning on finding a place in Illinois with a giant basement.
The ones we've been looking at so far, have a basement the entire length of the house.
there are 3 games of SF4 going on behind me. This level of autism is terrifying.
As soon as I have an xbox again I'll be picking it up. I'm going to be an el fuerte master. Also, if my box isn't back for melee don't boot me. Without halo it's back to wow, and you don't wanna do that to me
So yeah, BotS is surprisingly good. The story is the standard bullshit fare but the game mechanics are really solid. It rewards you for quick kills in succession but the opponents will shoot any part of you that's out of cover, and health takes a while to regenerate.
I need to go download the demo of the Club, but from what I remember it seems a lot like that but without the need to learn the level beforehand. The main thing is that you're pressured to finish certain sections of the level win a time limit - a couple of grenadiers will appear, and if you finish them off within twelve seconds or whatever then you'll get a points bonus and some incendiary rounds for your pistol.
Every action you do earns you points - destroying objects, chaining kills, collecting posters and target (some of which are really devilishly hidden, but nothing cheap), which at the end of a level are totalled up and you get a medal rank for however many points you have. Enemies and lockboxes drop cash, which can be used to buy new weapons.
Bottom line - I'm actually really enjoying it. I'm playing on Hard mode, as Normal doesn't seem to be much of a challenge at all. I imagine that's because of its intended audience, but whatever. I probably won't go back to earn all the gold medals, but who knows? I haven't even tried the co-op yet, and it feels fucking awesome to charge through an area using all the weapons perfectly.
I'd actually recommend a rental if you're even remotely interested.

Bit of a weird thing, though - you can set it as open for someone to jump in at any point, but if they leave, then you reset from the previous checkpoint. It's been annoying so far.

My box is fixed but hasn't ben shipped yet. Ups doesn't run on Saturday, so it'll probably be next week before I get to play again. This has been a really rough month. At least I've caught up on my movies a bit and started getting back into photography.
