The JPN store has gifted me with Home betas and LittleBigPlanet betas too, so I can't complain. I feel it'd be worth noting if anything in particular (such as the Resident Evil 5 demo that hit the 360 JPN store) came up that would be of major interest. Otherwise I'd say it's a bit of a waste of time.

Also is anyone else going to be sad enough to be online on Xmas day?

I recall getting to play the Folklore/soul and Echochrome demos a little early thanks to the Japanese PS Store. But aside from those two demos, and the slew of PS1 games that have no good reason for not being on the US store, I can't think of any great exclusive content.

You didn't download the Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan demos? Shame on you sir, shame on you.

I don't see why it's 'hard' to post the Japanese update. Copying and pasting from Neogaf is hard? Who cares if one week they just upload a couple of trailers or something, one of those trailers might be for Yakuza 3.

The only PSN games I've bought are Echochrome and R&CF: Quest for Booty (I have Pain but got it free from the MGS4 bundle). I'll get PAA Episode 1 soon and they Trine game looks great. And while I'm not a big fan of MGS, I am going to get the LBP level pack ($5.99 is too good to pass up).

I'm focusing on single player games at the moment (R&CF, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, PoP), but I'm always up for some LBP or Burnout Paradise multiplayer.

Warhawk is multiplayer-only and you are seriously missing out if you don't use a headset. Bamelin runs the PA group thread here.

Edit: Also regarding game-sharing, I strongly recommend not doing this, as it requires that you activate your PSN account on someone else's PS3, permanently, and this will cause you a lot of headaches in the long run.

Warhawk is fine without a headset. Even though I have one, I never used to use it when playing Warhawk. It's a game that certainly benefits from lots of team communication, but in my experience there just wasn't much of it, so you were fine without one.

Any USB headset will do and many of them are cheap. You can see 'em on Ebay for $10 or so.

Ninja edit: In my experience, if you team isn't using their mics they're doing it wrong. I haven't played with the PA group but I'd imagine that most of them use them. Also, it's a $400-$600 console, you really can't afford a $10 mic?

Yeah unless you are playing with a clan there isn't a whole lot of people talking in warhawk. (You actually find more of it in smaller games though, can be very useful in core control which is kinda a collection/ctf thing with multiple flags at once) Also you can use any usb or bluetooth headset you might have lying around, you could also use a usb mic from rockband or singstar or something in a pinch. (There are options for push to talk or open mic)

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

Just so I'm clear, I'm not saying Warhawk isn't fun with a headset, just that one isn't necessary for the game to be fun. I barely used mine at all and still found the game to be awesome.

I didn't get much into the PS1 era, but I would kill to have the original Galerians and T'ai Fu. It was a 3D beat-em up with a kung-fu tiger who learns various styles from different animals. The Crane taught crane style, et cetera.

What I played of Galerians was pretty awesome too. You're a kid trapped in some government stronghold and when you go off your meds people's heads explode when they get too close to you.

From a faux-executive standpoint though, what they need up there is FFVII. You can't tell me that wouldn't do better than half a million.

Also: OP, I have a headset. And I play most of my online with some dudes from Miami, we never have much of a problem.

They could release a straight port as a PS One classic, a Crisis Core-styled prettied-up remake for PSP, and an HD remake for PS3.

I would buy all three, and also buy the PSP to play that remake on.

I picked it up from a guy at work who was selling a 60GB for $300. I didn't have the cash, so I had to take out of my school fun. That on top of all the Christmas gifts and medications I have to buy... Means I maxed out my $5000 credit line last week. I'm trying to stop spending money if I can help it.

Not that I can tell. The Playstation website has it set as TBA. They're probably waiting for the whiners to find something else to complain about. And it's pretty funny; I hadn't had much interest in the game until I looked up information on it, and now I'll be getting that fairly recently after it's released, if not the first day. (And Crash Commandos is so bought too after OTRSPOD2 and PAIN.)

Also, just to throw it out there. Somehow a high-def remake of Lemmings snuck on there for SIX DOLLARS and I never saw it till last night. I highly recommend it after playing it myself. And if anyone can figure out how some of those assholes saved all ten lemmings on 'Total Eclipse of the Lem' in 'Fun' difficulty, I'd love to know how cause I've been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out how that was accomplished (tho you only need 4).
