    @JoJo
From what i've played it's pretty good; plenty of characters, decently fast gameplay, but not so quick you need the reflexes of a cat on speed to be able to do anything, and inputs that are a bit simpler than SF- think double taps on directions plus l, m or h attack, rather than qcfs etc. There's a strong emphasis on juggling your opponent, to the extent that even some of the first combo tests in the 'mission mode' contain fucking air juggles, so your timing needs to be good! The characters are also quite a diverse bunch, as the source material dictates, so there's plenty of opportunity to find one you really like. The extras are ok, with some unlockable movies, and various artwork, and a cool feature is that you can change the system voice to that of characters you've beaten the game with. Only downside is that in arcade mode, the difficulty is pretty low- even on the hardest setting, i got to about the third round (of eight) before it became tricky. I think there's a lot of fun to be had, though, as the mission mode will last a long time. Worth 30EUR? I like it, and will get that money's worth, but definitely i'd have preferred it cheaper.

I downloaded the Bayonetta demo and loved it, maybe I am just less anal than some, or don't look for things to bitch about, but the game play was fun and frantic, graphics were great, and I really did not notice a drop in the frame rates. All in all I was really impressed, maybe if I downloaded it on my 360 as well my PS3 I would feel differently, but on the PS3 it was great.

Man I just upgraded my PS3 hard drive and the restore from backup process been stuck on 86% with 13 minutes to go for like an hour now.

Is that normal or did something go FUBAR?

EDIT: never mind it is moving again, apparently Sony sucks at progress bars.

This seems like the best place to ask, since it's all PS3-related, and we've been talking about saves and such lately.

If I want to free up some space on my HD by deleting the Save Game Utilities(? I believe that's what it is, the top folder where the files are larger, or just the ones that aren't my saves) for games I don't really play anymore, were I to play those games again, I'd just have to reinstall them, right? My saves would stay on and I wouldn't have to fuss about too much?

those are game installations, if you dont play the games in question you should be fine deleting them. just note that whenever you want to play those games again you will have to reinstall them and redownload any patches etc.

Yeah, that won't be a hassle. I know Oblivion never got patched, and I haven't played that in almost a year, I think, and really have no intentions of doing so again on the console.

Does DLC get put into the installation itself as well? Like, if I were to Delete my Batman install, would I then have to re-download the Joker DLC and the other free stuff?

Yes. That's the one annoying thing I've found with the PS3. If you want to delete your installed game data, you delete ALL of it. Patches, DLC, game data, everything. It's all kept in 1 file.

Hrm. Well, the free stuff only amounts to a couple or few hundred megs, so I can pick it up again no problem. I just don't need that big chunk of Gigs taken up for a game I don't have anymore. (Rented it, since I'm trying to save money.)

    Thanks for the help guys.

it's really, really worth the marginal price. like four different modes, not including multiplayer (online and local), and a gorgeously rendered island with a ton of unique animations and backdrops. plus the basic gameplay is classic

looks similar, only instead of just chaining colours you feed smaller critters to larger ones to pop them, which in turn can burst in combos. there are status effects and powerups too, but i like the puzzle stages, where you get unlimited time and a (very) limited number of turns to clear the stage entirely.

Fuck, I can breathe a little easier now. Sony found my 120gb HDD and are mailing it back to me by Monday. Should be just in time for Uncharted 2.

Just to make absolutely certain here, there is NO WAY to retrieve the data from the 120gb drive before it gets formatted, erasing all my data forever?

Whoa! is it 9.99USD all the time, or was that some promotion???

I just don't know how they can justify it. On Rosenqueen (NIS America's shop website), you can get the special edition, with soundtrack, comic book, Prinny plushie, and Prinny PSP slipcase for 70USD, and the game, soundtrack and comic package for 40USD (obviously still more expensive than the US digital version, but still only 2/3 of the European digital price). I'm about to email them to ask if they can sell me one. Dayum.

Flippin sweet! Trine was just added to Gametap, so I have it downloading now and will be playing it for free (well, as a new and unexpected bonus to my subscription at no extra cost, anyway) after the wife goes to sleep tonight.

On a different note, anyone have any idea when the UK PSN cards will actually be released? There's a fairly large number of songs from the UK PSN store that my wife and I want to get for SingStar that aren't available at all in the US, and there's been no way to do so thus far without an actual UK-based credit card.

You don't need a PS3 to do that. Go to account managment, and deactivate the PSP. Then press triangle on account management and delete your account. Then, sign into the store on your other account, then activate the PSP on that account. Takes about a minute. Of course, you need wifi.

It's NZ$60 on our store, NZ$10 less than the actual retail price. I would've liked it if they'd had a similar special to the ones they had on the US Store but I can understand the problems they might have setting that up (NIS don't actually publish their games in PAL format, Koei Europe usually does).
