Yeah Monday so like 18 hours from now. Anyways already got my head chopped off in the Japanese demo. Good times. Funny enough it was a clean swipe with the chainsaw unlike the usual "Oh holy shit wait don't cut off my head" resistance.

I supposed I should have updated the thread as soon as I heard this, however what I instead did was took you completely at your word (thank God you weren't misinformed), ran out of the house after midnight, got in my car, drove to the next town over, called my friend on the way and told him to stop fucking his girlfriend 'cause we're downloading the Japanese demo and playing some RE5 co-op. I imagine he threw her off after this, I don't know, because I closed the phone and turned up the fucking music 'cause I was about to play FUCKING RESIDENT EVIL 5.

    And it was fucking amazing.

Killzone 2 demos are up and available on PSN now. Euro PSN has it for free for everyone (lucky bastards) and North Americans can DL if they pre-ordered via GameStop in person or online.

    Official details are here.

Now, to wait for the rest of the Playstation Store to update...

What happened to the PS3 thread that Chance made with the excellent write-up of the major exclusives etc? It was a very informative thread and being there are so few PS3 owners here a good place to find out about new shit :)

Also I played a couple of games of Crash Commando online yesterday (including one or two with Malechai). Excellent game, glad I bought it!

How easy is it to hook a PSP online to the Playstation store? Can I just plug in an ethernet cord into my router? I'm asking because I haven't had much luck with console wireless adapters in the past (I've never gotten my DS online & I can only get the Wii online via the USB adapter connected to my wife's laptop).

F-Zero and Wipeout are two different schools of thought and while they are both space ship racers, play completely differently. I always felt that F-Zero was a lot more twitchy (and I could never get into it in terms of high level of play) and Wipeout is more about racing lines and following the correct path through a track. There is a demo for Wipeout HD now though, so I recommend giving it a spin before committing.

Heck no, ps3 even supports gigabit ethernet. (I have a hub under my TV for my Tivo, 360 and ps3, wireless is for chumps that can't run wire) And yeah its very easy.

I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

I got Crash Commando yesterday and started playing it tonight. Holy hell, that is pretty fun. Makes me wish I could play it on an HDTV, because the text is illegible, though. I tried to focus too hard to read it, and got a headache (Which was also partly caused by overheating, but still) But chaotic fun. I think on my...fourth play, I managed to win the top of the round which made me feel awesome. (First to 75 DM)

For the wired/wireless convo, I've got my PS3 wired, which is nice, but we still have bottom-of-the-barrel DSL, so it doesn't make that much of a difference I imagine. However, my PSP took to my wireless the first time I tried it and hasn't ever given me problems.

There's three ways to get PSP stuff. The first is to download it to a PS3 and then copy it across to the PSP, the second is to go directly online through a wireless connection and the third is to use the Media Manager.

Go to this website, download and install the Media Manager. Plug your PSP into your PC/Laptop and go to the PS Store within the Media Manager. If you don't have a PSN ID, you'll need to sign up for one.

Edit: That URL should probably be in the OP, for people that don't have PS3's or wireless connections.

There is NO way wipeout is slow. Maybe the demo is a low difficulty or something but the game can be insanely fast:

    Watch to the end.

And when you're playing it you certainly get a good sensation of speed ;)

Yeah the demo had one set speed I guess.

I'm not terribly good at F-Zero GX either but I love racing at ridiculously high speeds, where you just kindof get in the zone and flow with the track. It's like some kind of trance racing. I could go for some-a that in HD.

You might like the appropriately named 'zone mode' in Wipeout then. You just race a never ending track until you run out of shield, with the speed constantly increasing.

The multiplayer has at least two player split screen (played with my friend). I couldn't get into the top 3 at first either, till I changed my ship. I'm not all that great at this game but I still find it a hell of a lot of fun, the only problem is I can't really play when my kids are around because it takes so much concentration. (In those cases I usually go with Motorstorm 2 or Burnout)

I have no idea how anyone can get to zone 76, I usually die at around 20. Its a pretty challenging game but I find it rewarding. (The game does get a bit easier when you get the icarus. You need that ship to do well in some of the timed lap events.) Perhaps I'm just getting too old and my reflexes are shit now.
