I'm looking for an oil pan and gasket for a 2000 Mercury Mystique. It's a 2.5l V6. I've been having the damnedest time finding one online, and the one place I did find one, well, they called and canceled the order just a few minutes ago. Anyone with any knowledge of car parts know where I can find one? Especially at a sane price point (under $250)?
No I don't.

This. If not, call any local auto parts store. If they don't have it they should be able to get it pretty fast.
Double lime the first, and uh, lime the second.
These two options have never failed me.
Look around the junk yard hard, and go to other local ones.
Some are better then others, some are more expensive then others.
And sadly those two don't depend on each other.
I'd first find out what makes/models used the same part (possibly half the Ford/Mercury/Lincoln line) and then go to a local junkyard.

Just an example, years ago I had to replace a headlight lens on a car to pass inspection (it was cracked). The car was at that time about 11 or 12 years old. The dealership quoted me $325. I got it at a junk yard for $20.

Word, exact same thing happened to me. I when I asked them why it was so much he was like "well ya see we'll have to bang this out, buy a new frame for this and pound that out over there". (a deer hit me FYI) Just all bullshit. Pulled one out of a car in the junk yard and put it in there in the parking lot, took five minutes.

Shit, that's for a 2.0, not a 2.5. Maybe write those guys though and ask if they have what you want (if local doesn't work out).
Dealer quoted radiator: $350
Junk yard: $40
