With how far HDTV prices have fallen, I really don't think that projectors are worth it any more
-setup hassles
-making/purchasing a screen
-replacing bulbs
-etc.
Also note that this is not an HDTV projector. You'll be playing games at 480p
Projectors will give you easily over 100" of screen size... try doing that at today's lcd or plasma prices.
I would get 720p at minimum in a projector though.

480p games at 100" will be big, pixelly messes, though. Some may like it, but it's not for everyone. HD projectors are a good way to get massive images (like, >60"). For smaller than that, I'd recommend an actual TV, be it DLP, LCoS, LCD, or plasma.

I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.
I use an infocus in72 for gaming and DVD watching. This projector is 480p. It cost me $450 dollars. Best investment ever. Halo 3 is incredible at 96". Return of the king looks beautiful playing through my xbox. My advice? See one in real life.

It's impossible for us to without a doubt prove the non-existence of God. We just have to take it on faith that he's imaginary..

you're neglecting the best feature of a projector - sheer size. Playing games on a screen over 100" is a whole lot of fun.
