Pretty much every chain has a different Pre-Order bonus. Different wargear, colours and Chapters.

And if it's anything like CoH you can install any skin pack you want. It won't interfere with multiplayer.

Time to go shopping then. Ok, so BB, Gamestop, probably Fry's, anyplace else that has these deals? (these are the only stores I know of that do pre-orders, PC or otherwise)

Horray for having finished my undergrad degree and not starting Honours for 6 months! This and Empire cannot threaten my schoolwork. Unless the bastards release an expansion mid 2009. Then I'm fucked.

What I did during undergrad was set a timer. After like two hours a night, a buzzer goes off, and I save/finish whatever game I'm in.

it let me actually keep track of time

    Depends how new it is.

Year old or so? No problem according to those specs. However, judging from Company of Heroes, you won't be playing at maximum details. I play CoH at somewhere around medium - high detail and it runs well enough, it remains to be seen if DoW2 asks more from the hardware or not.

Playable on your MBP? Certainly, the minimum specs are quite low, 1G ram and a 128mb video card are there even in an older MBP.

I bought my MBP in January 2008. It runs Left 4 Dead reasonably well.

Though I guess by the time this is out I'll have rebuilt my PC. We have the technology.

Does the Macbook come with a penis port?

I think the fact that 25-30fps is about all you need for a smooth looking RTS game is going to help keep the requirements modest. World in Conflict ran fine on my Geforce 6800 / 3.0GHz P4 so I expect DoWII to run about the same.

Is everyone going to have to post whether or not they meet the requirements? How is this helpful? I exceed them by the way. Whoop de fucking doo!

Because a lot of the people here spend time playing with other people who also read and post in these forums and knowing that they will be around for playing DoW2 with you is nice. For example maybe Zen Vulgarity really really wants to play DoW2 with Goomba and therefore it's nice for him to know that he will be playing it.

The above statement isn't true, but it could have been!

Just to clarify on the wargear once and for all.

Pre-order pack wargear is campaign only. You can not use this in multiplayer so the only advantage these players get is a slight stat boost at the start of the single player game.

In multiplayer your commanders all have wargear you can buy in the matches to improve their stats. This resets at the end of evey match.

Each race also has 60 multiplayer ranks to unlock some with unique visual unlocks. In total there are 110 visual unlocks, these will make the high-level players look really cool but give no stat advantage whatsoever.

From the Relicnews forums. Man, 60 ranks? I want to look really cool nooooow. Will this be the first RTS I have to grind like an MMO to look good in?

don't ask me what is what, it's pretty easy to ask the store\check their online store and decide for yourself.

Dareth, can you find out if Best Buy preorder people are the only ones that are going to be able to play this map? Or will it eventually become available for the rest of us that didn't happen to order it from Best Buy?

I rather imagine that it will be, at most, 6 hours or so before someone has ripped the map out and has it available for play. A map that no one else has would be pretty fecking useless.

No, for some reason it messes up all of my punctuation keys, the É is the only French letter that turns up on my keyboard.

On topic, 40k lacks a `French` race, while Warhammer Fantasy has one.

Unless you consider the Eldar French because THEY TURN TAIL AND RUN HO HO HO
Please don`t hurt me I actually have some French in my background :(

Halo's was designed to actually match you up against people your own skill level, so it would be a "fair" game. Not necessarily be a badge of leetness.

Personally I'd rather have a system that actually matches me against people I have a shot against, rather than just giving me a bigger number/title next to my name.

Fuck yes I do, love Nausicaa. Had Warriors of the Wind on VHS as a kid (yes the horribly butchered one, but it was all that was out over here) and was ecstatic a few years ago when they finally brought Nausicaa (uncut and with good actors) over on DVD.

Edit: I capped the shot of Teto on Nausicaa's shoulder from the DVD and cropped it down for this avatar and also have one of him in her pouch.
