My friends are convinced this game is a Starcraft 2 ripoff. Help

PS Warhammer 40,000 doesn't just pre-date Starcraft, it pre-dates Blizzard, and I suspect it's actually older than many of the people that work there. He might as well be saying that the LoTR movies are a D&D ripoff.
I have this urge to visit an alternate version of our world, one where a fledgling Blizzard got their hands on the WH40K license and decided to make an rts instead of the 'Craft Star' idea they've been fooling around with behind closed doors. It would tell the story of an isolated Space Marine chapter fighting a losing battle against a new tyranid hive fleet in some obscure corner of space. Ultimately the Eldar step in, knowing that the only chance of holding the Tyranid menace back involves an alliance with the Emperium's finest. Massive battles, betrayal and badassness on all sides insue.

I imagine if Blizzard has the 40k license in this alternate dimension, Relic never got it to make Dawn of War. With no DoW, they closed doors after Deadly Creatures wiffed. Thus, alternate-me is still working at EA contemplating whether I want to kill myself or not.

My XBL Tag is in my sig. I have no idea how actually "log on" with it on anything but my 360.

Edit: Downloaded the GFWL Client and managed to log in with my XBL account. I can't manage my friendlist from there. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work?

So what was the countdown Goomba was doing about? I thought this game doesn't come out until some time in Feburary. Are they doing some kind of Beta or such?

When's the open beta/what are the requirements, I mean it's hardly like they're going to be releasing copies of what is close to finished for free is it? (sorry if these questions have already been answered, which they almost certainly have, it's just a long thread otherwise I'd go back through it).

You can on the 360 anyway, so it should be available for GFWL too.
Well, that's the XBL one. I'm still trying to find out how to get this GFWL thing to work.
If I missed you it's cuz it's your sig and I have signatures turned off and I can't figure out how to turn them back on.
They are pretty much the same thing, just the windows version doesn't have to pay to play online. But you can use your XBL tag as your GFWL account.
