You should probably find out what "Wednesday during the day in Europe" means in Pacific Standard Time.

That's be late evening on the 20th, ie, Tuesday. 8am Wednesday would be 11pm Tuesday there and so on. Unless they're planning a midnight release on Steam ala L4D demo then the answer is no. If they're gonna do it around noon Relic time then that would be 9pm your side. So you'd get like a few hours playtime I guess.
Oh you guys haven't seen the spacehulk remake yet?
It's pretty damn awesome, go download it. GO NOW!
No seriously, go now.
A FEW WORDS..
This project started as a tribute to Games Workshop and the old Space Hulk computer game released in 1993. Version 1.0 of our game was released early February but was later pulled back due to license issues with Games Workshop as THQ currently hold the computer-license to the Warhammer 40.000 world where the game of Space Hulk takes place. At the moment we are having discussions with THQ who are trying to help us but the legal process may take some time and until everything is setteled all downloads have been removed and we kindly ask you to keep your custom tributes to a minimum. As we had many new visitors the last couple of days reading about us in various computer magazines we thought it best to explain our situation and why the game itself isn't currently available. In the meantime we offer some screenshots of the game for your viewing pleasure.
DOWNLOADS
Downloads have been removed 5th March, 2008 Downloads of the game have been removed due to legal / license issues. We are working on getting the game approved, until then the downloads will be offline.
Some um...no one dared to ever comment on questions I had on the game....20 or so pages back, so I will ask again.
Obviously several Hero units will act as engineers for DOW2, but will we be able to set up defenses such as sandbags, barbed wire, dynamite bridges, etc. or have we seen the end of these abilities.
I'm jealous of you guys btw, I don't have soulstorm so I will not be able to join you guys until the 28th...but expect Bluflare to be back and playing, with a mic this time, to kick you asses.

I'm pretty sure you can't set up cover at all.
And as far as I can tell, every army has lot sof units that destroy cover so late in the game, there won't be much left.
Also,I want to know more about melee and if it is actually viable and units like sluggaboyz are actually able to get into close combat now.

As I recall they said a couple of things about that. One, melee units can now attack while moving, and two, retreating units start out slower than the normal run speeds, giving melee time to take some whacks.
My bet is you will see people start running away faster so the slugga boys and such can't start meleeing. Until you start jumping people into ranged units. Then hopefully they can still melee while moving.
If you recall CoH, units that are running away barely shoot at units pursuing them, if at all, because they're facing the opposite direction. This goes for a retreat order, of course, but also for a basic move order. So if you rush those Sluggas in to melee a powerful ranged unit, they're likely to only take damage as they cover the ground between the two squads--if your opponent orders his squad to move back, they'll probably have a very limited ability to fire back at the melee squad pursuing them.
Obviously I haven't played the game any more than you guys have, but this is how I imagine it.

Well I care less about the firing while running but more about the "haha we are as fast as you" speed.
I would like Sluggas to have a little lunge or a very small jump/step forward. Kinda like the Zealots in Star Craft 2 only less exaggerated and not as far reaching.

That isnt really a rougelike, it's more of a 'learn how bad you are at games'-like. That game is stupid hard...yet really fun...

Remember it looks like most of the modes in this game are to do with commanding territory and control points. If your opponent has a hugely powerful ranged unit fleeing from your boys then even once the initial speed decrease wears off then you will still leave them vastly out of position away from the objectives.
Klyka, if you're really worried, there's a narrated skirmish game/interview video up where Mark Noseworthy shows the game to some journalist (DoA posted it a few pages ago). At one point he gives his unit a retreat command and you can watch the squad start out slowly and speed up as it heads back toward base.
It seems like the initial retreat speed might actually be slower than a basic move order. Melee units will have ample time to bash on retreating squads.
And anyway, this game is going to play so much more like Company of Heroes than Dawn of War, I don't know why anyone's freaking out about "whether my melee units will actually be able to kill enemy ranged squads or whether they'll just force retreat every time they fight". Forcing retreats wins map control, which wins games, so it's not like that's a bad thing!

The sweeping assault cannon of the dreadnought is the best thing.

You're right K, I'm looking at this from the wrong direction.
This is more CoH than DoW and I should look at it like that.
Also, when that Dreadnaught used his ability and the little guy just EXPLODED into chunks, my first thought was "FUCK Star Craft 2".
Noseworthy talks so much that he gets punked by the Normal CPU, and he says some pretty inane stuff because he's talking to a relative layperson, and he repeats a lot of things that you've heard from other walkthroughs. But if you just focus on what's happening in-game you'll see a lot of stuff you haven't seen in any other vids.

A Necromunda roguelike would rock, too.
they were back up a few weeks ago, they said GW had given them a greenlight.

[edit] oh so the downloads were back, and now gone again?
I want to have this slugga squad run into those marines and chop them to pieces.
But I know it won't happen cause "Lol we run as fast as you so you can't catch us and we fire while running!"
For as I walk through the valley of cheese, I shall fear no SM's,
for my choppa and my shoota comfort me.
