    Video

Another thing I loved is how the Force commander absolutely fucked up the shit of those marines who were in cover.

The animation looked awesome and so much better than the clunky "wait wait keep running while being shot almost there ok yay we're right next to them now swing your weapon- oh shit they started to run sorry guys get em next time" melee of DoW.

Noseworthy talks so much that he gets punked by the Normal CPU, and he says some pretty inane stuff because he's talking to a relative layperson, and he repeats a lot of things that you've heard from other walkthroughs. But if you just focus on what's happening in-game you'll see a lot of stuff you haven't seen in any other vids.

I like that video, especially how he cheats but still loses because he's spending all the time explaining everthing :P

So for multiplayer, he said in the video that the different races can team up and that "it didn't make sense in world war 2 but in this universe it does" o_O Anyway, nitpicking, I think I'd personally find it much more enjoyable if both sides of a 3v3 played the same faction.

I haven't even decided to play Orkz yet. In fact the only race I'm unlikely to play is Eldar. I'll try all the commanders of Space Marines, Orkz, and Tyranids and then decide which I enjoy most.

But the Warboss of the Orkz is high on my priority list to try out.

I don't dislike the other races, not at all, I just don't like swarm armies (see orkz and tyranids) and the eldar are, well, eldar.

Space Marine HQ is a drop pod pad and an Orbital Relay from DoW I.

    Don't see how that's odd.

And you know, Eldar are so into their webway gates. That's so Eldar.

Er the Hero classes or whatever. The protagonist type you pick at the beginning. Force Commander makes sense, but Techmarine and Apothecary seem more like support types. I could see Chaplains and Librarians being good "leader" hero types.

Is there or is there not a loot based system for your heroes in MP? As in progressive loot that carries over from battle to battle? I thought I remember reading about that last year but I haven't heard anything about it recently.

If the loot thing is only in SP I can live with that but then I require SP DLC for the other races. Stupid Space Puffs. Though I must say the guy with the big builder claw on his back tempts me into playing SM.

Yeah there's an army painter where you can make your own Space Marine chapter by giving them a unique color scheme.

And so far I think the ones that have been shown off in videos have been Blood Ravens, Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Imperial Fists and I think Dark Angels.

There is upgradeable wargear in MP.

    But it is COSMETIC ONLY

You can get flashy armour and shit, but it curries no stat bonuses whatsoever.

Ranking is linear also, so you will always progress upwards. The longer you play, the most cool shit you can put on your units.

Yeah, I'll probably end up going Force Commander as well, for a few reasons. In most MMO games I tend to like playing tanks (and I suspect the same will be true in DoW2), and frankly the thought of a force commander in tactical dreadnought armor just fills me with glee. Hell, I just love terminators in general really. They make me happy.

I also find it humorous that folks seem to be pitting this game against Starcraft 2, when realistically SC2's release date will probably be far far in the grim dark future long after DoW2 has been released, reviewed, and played multiple times.

Well, for the Techmarine, just think of him as a master of the forge(that, and I believe THQ did a poll about what commanders people wanted, and techmarine won handily).

Apothecary is a slightly lesser choice, but it is an HQ unit(albiet not an independant character, or one you can use without a captain in your force). That one I simply chalk up to wanting a variety of different types of HQ's.

If you want to complain about HQ choices, complain about the eldar. I still have yet to figure out the reason for picking a warlock instead of an autarch.

The video kinda confirmed a thought I had earlier: it just takes one solid engagement near a point to completely demolish all the cover around it.
