About an hour ago, I was recording bass, and then my computer had its first ever hard freeze. Now, the soundcard isn't working and the wav files are corrupted. I'm ecstatic.
I've done that in the past, but the main problem with using a mic on it is that my computer and amp are located directly below a couple of exposed air vents that tend to buzz when I play certain notes, or when I just play loud. It fuzzes everything up.
I tried some stuff, in standard and in drop D, some slap and some more metal stuff, and some of it turns out better than others. If I play with the treble at around a medium setting, so it sounds a bit more natural, I have to crank the volume waaay up to make it sound decent at all with the recording, and drop D has to be way low, or it just fuzzes with the lower notes.

Drop D and Drop C are half the reason I hate going to guitar center.
Usually any guitar you pick up will be mangled into half drop d with an a flat and an e flat mixed in on the other strings for good measure
And they probably did it on a locked nut by completely loosening the microtuners, so the tension on the bridge is all kinds of screwed, and it won't go back in tune without a hex key.
grr drop c makes me sad. i don't really like the sound either. drop d can be way fun though. my band switches to drop d from standard for some of the less "traditional" metal sounding songs
I've been playing bass for three years and it has been about a year since my old band fell apart. Outside of jazz stuff that i do through school/extra cirricular schools i am in desperate need of a new project to join.

Thinking of picking up an electronic drum set or maybe some bongos to toy around with.
I do not even know since I havent even written a poem since high school.
Otherwise I was thinking synth but fuck are those things expensive. And the skill dosent seem like it would translate well to anything else.
beep boop boop boop beep boop boop boop
Do you know any non-expensive solutions?
That and it would easier to start out on, since I get pretty ADD with my hobbys and move on to somthing else.
Also I was thinking of like a mini desktop thing, not a full blown concert set.
Roland V-drums are very very good.
Not everyone can have an acoustic setup.
nope
If you're looking to do it on the cheap, and your current soundcard isn't total trash, you might be better off mic'ing an amp than running direct.
It is progress, though!
Drop D
Thats how girls play

Put enough gain on it, and you too can sound like every other band in the world
Using only one finger
And one Rage song, but we don't talk about that.
Oh man is it tasty.

But only the manliest leave their guitar by the radiator over a week, then play it and see what happens
