To put things sweetly, PIPEX is doing the funny with me and my family, making us pay more for less, and putting on endless hold only to tell us to ring this number afterwards, which is the one we just rung. Emailing them tells us to ring that number, and the online stuff is 'down'. So i'm at my wits end, and want to change ISPs.
I'm looking for a solid ISP in the UK which supports 8mb connection and is relatively cheap. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a cable connection with Ntl. I'll be honest and say I have no idea what speed it is anymore because every six months or so we get an email saying they've upgraded it for free.
Which is nice.
If you have a problem with Ntl their customer support is terrible, but in all the years I've been with them I think I've had to phone them twice.
I think if you take a package with phone/digital TV you can get a good deal with them, but we only have t'internet and it comes in pretty cheap.
Reading this back it's actually of no help whatsoever. Oh well, I did my best
Telewest are brilliant - they are basically the same as NTL, they share out the country by regions. They do a 10Mb connection but it's pricey (£35 per month). No monthly restrictions though. I have the 2Mb connection (possibly upgraded) that comes with the TV/telephone/broadband all in one package and it seems more than fast enough for online gaming etc.
