First person to pick of the elephant video. Which might I add actually exists.
I know what you're all thinking, and yes, yes it does.

Also, ManonvonSuperock, I must agree with you. My issue right now is that I lack any real foundation for my strips, most webcomics have a sort of rough theme or storyline they base everything on but I'm really lacking in that department and I feel I really need a basic theme before I can truly make a start.

man I would be the one to spot the elephant amidst drawn parts of people.

I'm digging your stuff PT, maybe try just throwing bits of stories together and see what comes out?

yeah I've been thinking of just busting out some really simple storyline so the strips have some sort of grounding and then just ignoring it most of the time.

alternatively all I really need is a basic theme like what penny arcade uses (the whole two gamers living together thing). Just a matter of hitting the brainstorm g spot.

So after looking through a load of comics for inspiration on progressing my style, I started this piece of fan art (source material the Allan webcomic, the author of which appears as Allan on these boards) with the intention of giving it a western comic book look:

Gosh, you sir, are talented. It's a shame that you're tired of your style. But I understand what you mean. I'm entirely tired of my style of drawing too. I would love to learn to draw like you. I draw...a different way. Realistically. Very realistically. But; I draw from looking at photos. As soon as you take my reference away; I can't do much. I can't draw creative cartoons from my head; my lines are too unsure, I lack the imagination, because all my life I've been trying to duplicate photos until they look exactly like the photos and I envy anyone who can do what you do.

Seriously, you have incredible talent and I love love LOVE those stickers.

Where do you go from here? I don't know. It really all depends on what you want to do. What kind of style you would like to pursue. Try painting! That would give you a whole new medium to explore and I'm sure your characters would come out looking really different and unique.

Your style is more than generic animu, but there's no harm in experimenting. I love what you have going already though.

How do you do your lines? They're sharp.
