Any time censorship takes away the ability to insult people using conventional words, people will just find some other random word and start using that as a pejorative until people complain about it.
I'm going to start calling people "froods" until they feel insulted. You hear that, froods?
Go fork yourself, you spoony bard!
:P
Spoony is a real word though.
spoon·y also spoon·ey (spn)
adj. spoon·i·er, spoon·i·est
1. Enamored in a silly or sentimental way.
2. Feebly sentimental; gushy.
Who knew?
Why wouldn't you know? It's a perfectly cromulent word.

Everquest for PS2 would censor "cockroaches" even though they had them in the game.
That's the most confusing part for me, like someone who mentioned that Assault is censored in Halo. Don't the developers realize this, or are they really that afraid of cuss words?
I have no words to describe that. Also, you can't put "Bungie" anywhere in the filename or description.
However, you can get any censored word, including the 'big' ones past the filter if you take a screenshot in a game. Once you take a screenshot and name/describe it, it immediately uploads to bungie.net. However, if you then exit out and attempt to upload the same screenshot to your file share, the filter will catch it.
It will also detect the word 'ass' in "Assault", so it will also censor it's own gametype names in Xbox Live lobbies. Did I mention it just doesn't censor the word, it replaces the entire thing with just one word, "Blam!"?
In a world of competitive headshots, I can't imagine what sort of damage 'ASS' would do.

Competitive.... ass-shots? And that just leads to a case of chronic homosexuality.
Cook is a verb. You can cook many things. Explosives. Narcotics. Macaroni and cheese.
It's all a question of intent.
This doesn't really bother me insofar as Home is total and complete garbage, but I suppose it will become a spectacular example of what not to do we can look back on.

Because that's so much more homosexual then putting your virtual balls into their mouths.

TBH I forgot about teabagging. I never really got into Halo. I was just amused by the concept of an ass-shot.
Wasn't there a big list of banned words that was accidently left on the disk for some disney games? I seem to remember some surprising words there as well.

Or the later comics, where his mouth is visible when shouting. I wonder if that came after the animated series.
