    Regarding relationships and Christmas scenes:
I felt it was somewhat implied with Yumi that you "do the deed" at Max S.Link and if you hang out with her again after that. Ironically enough Christmas Eve did not feel like that.

You know, I think it depends on the girl. I mean, given my last post, that's clearly what I think. Which is actually really awesome for the writers. Too many games with these elements are built on "the goal is sex, you'll get it at the end". The fact that the girls aren't all the same, in how they act or even what they want, is actually a pretty big break from other games I've seen. The fact that it's not formulaic (as in, S. link 7 you always hug, 9 you always kiss, ten you always have sex) is a welcomed departure. I admit my experience in these sort of games is sorely lacking, however. Still, the fact that they wrote everyone differently is a big plus for me. The fact that the implications are different for different ones makes them feel so much more like individuals, and less like clones of some horny schoolgirl with slapped on archetypal personalities.

It was also implied with Naoto on Christmas Eve that:
Ya did the deed. On Christmas Eve she gives you this watch which lets you know where she is and she has a matching one which does the same for you (I really wanted a "Are you stalking me?" convo option ). When it fades to black you get a line reading: "The watch says 1m>"

    Haha, interesting.
To be fair, though, that could also imply that you're just sleeping together romantically, not sexually. You'd be closer than a meter away if you were sharing a futon either way. These writers love leaving what happens up to the players' imaginations, eh? I can't speculate more, as I'm still in September, as I said, so I don't know much about her personality. I'm not even supposed to know that she's a girl yet.

...also, I hate the PA forums. Drawing my attention when I have an immunology test tomorrow.

Okay, I'm on 12/20 and plan on spending the next two days do things I won't get into spoiler-y detail for, but you know what I mean.

And I don't get it, money-wise. I have 3 more Margaret's to finish, tons of personae to get, and I still didn't get the weapons and armor the last few levels will get me. And I'm broke. How much grinding is really expected at this point? Should I finally give up and do an infinite money trick? And if so, what are they again?

Also, what will New Game+ leave you with? Items equipped on you? On your allies? Items in your inventory? What about request items? Or fish? Should I sell leftover weapons or give them to the party when it's + time?

Even in the japanese one, it doesn't seem to have a picture of Adachi's "eye shot" when he summons Izanagi. I kind of want it because if it wasn't too spoilery, I was thinking I'd use it as a signature if I could find it online. It doesn't seem to be the easiest thing to find though and even then I'm too dumb to know how to resize stuff correctly. Even then I'd still like to see it in print but no artbook seems to have it. I actually can't even remember what it looks like but I remember it was kind of cool.

Oh, good, my "money." I'm sure the buck fifty I have left after I max everything will be useful when I win the game. At least P3 left me keep my stuff and my personal items. Well, at least I won't have to worry about Discipline and whatnot this time.

So, about that infinite money trick... Did anyone else even use that, though? I'd feel dirty if I was the only one.

I think it's almost perfect. The tiny bit of the ?! is a little distracting but I think it's really good anyway. Is it possible to get those in it fully if they can't just not be in it? I think it might actually be even cooler looking to have them in completely instead of not at all.

I'm saving it anyway even if that's not possible. I'll be using it. It's a great image, there's no way to tell who it is so it doesn't spoil a single thing. Thanks a bunch.

(no, but for real, if you're fighting Shadows you really shouldn't have money issues past the third dungeon)

I was pretty good up until the end. I was frugal with new stuff, using the logic of "Huh, the new weapon is only 12 points better than the last. I'll just skip that one, then," to keep things cheap, and so I did okay. But at the end here, we're talking about potentially buying 100K worth of stuff for every character, plus all the Margaret request costs, and later buying any persona I need.

And for a few more specific, spoilery questions
After 12/22 can you ever go to the weapon shop again? And do the real, true, we really mean it this time final dungeon's enemies even drop spoils?

Yes you can, but you can only go there and the item shop. The rest of the town is locked off. Because of this, yes they drop spoils.

It's cool man. How did you get the picture anyway? Capture card from the game or something? If that was how then there's no need to bother unless you really want to do it. It goes by so fast that you would probably need some perfect timing. It's a badass picture as is.

So, I just bought Persona 3 and after reading at gamefaqs and whatnot, I'm pretty overwhelmed.

Is it possible to max out all social links and see/do most everything in one play-through (other than anything that is specific to new game+)? I'm thinking I should not worry about it my first time around, but I tend to get pretty OCD about my rpgs.

Oh, is there any persona I should definitely keep an eye out for/try to fuse?

There's some modest rewards for maxing everything in one playthrough. You don't need to, and you can still get full enjoyment out of the game without maxing everything, but if you want to max all your links you will need to follow a FAQ and you will need to follow it religiously. Either let your OCD habit go (or reserve it for playthrough #2) or follow a FAQ.

There's no "best" persona until really late in the game, and by that point the "best" persona are all so powerful that it doesn't really matter which you use, unless you're doing playthrough #2 and going for the uber-boss. What persona you use will probably depend on which S-Links you level first, what persona you get lucky fusions for, and who you take in your party.

Dont try to do everything in one play through your first time or itll just plain piss you off. And you want to have fun the first time through anyways. Just do what you want on your first try and if you really feel like trying to do everything, use a guide on your second.

I got up to late December on game two and finally lost interest, though new games also helped. It wasn't a Max All, either; I just wanted to max up all the stuff I missed the first time around, and my lack of interest came from the fact that there was a very good chance that I couldn't even do that right. You see, it's not just as simple as focusing on the half you neglected the first time. No matter what you do, you're virtually guaranteed to get all the townies on any playthrough, since there are massive chunks of time when only they are available. Squeezing all the school friends in the much smaller availability period is the tricky part, especially in the second half when your sunday dates dry up for months, plot-related crises keep your SEES links away for long periods, and there are way more holidays and special events. On the plus side, the Tartarus dungeons crawls were nice and quick.

Yeah they go down fast on a second play. Its just tough to stay focused and really want to keep on going. I mean....jesus the game already stole 130 hours of my life, doing it again isnt easy. I really wanted to but a couple months in and I was just like..."god....this is too boring..." maybe if I had started a whole new game on Hard mode it wouldve been better. It was too damn easy with the New Game + so I ended up destroying things so hard and it just got really boring. Which is why I LOVE P4s New Game +. You atleast start at level 1 again so its fun to work back up there. I dont mind the New Game + in P4 but I just could not for the life of me stand it in P3.

So... which one of us is going to start a Persona 3 LP in March?
    Don't you mean April?

I'd still like to, but since I have no way of taking screenshots or whatever, I would not be able to make a 'traditional' LP.

I've been tempted to run through Persona 1, then 2, then the other 2 as LPs, since I could do those in a far better format than my other one, but I'm not sure I could do them justice. Maybe I'll experiment one day and see what comes of it.

Alas, school has taken away all of my lovely JRPG time. I managed to finish The Answer, though. I'm chugging along through Nocturne now - it's a different, albeit still all the more enjoyable game than my MegaTen-cherry-breaking Persona's.

Probably gonna do a P4 NG+ .. unless I manage to magically find DDS1+2 at some point. Or maybe Devil Summoner? So many choices. So little.. time.

I bought Persona 3 after finishing Persona 4 and I'm using penguin_knight's guide to max S.Links on my first run through. I'm one day behind though two months into it, but I have too many hours invested to start again (and I saved stupidly so I can't go back). The one day I'm behind is for Hermit, though, and I think I'll be able to pick that one up again sometime later in the game.

For me, I don't want to play through Persona 3 again anytime soon, but I feel like I missed a lot of the content in P4 by not maxing S.Links. Since I don't want to play P4 again anytime soon either, I want to get as much content as I can in my P3 playthrough for the first time.

I'm not at all sure there's even one day to spare on a max S-Link run in P3.
