Ahahah. I have something like 110 after the fetus room. I expect horrible fucking retribution, though. Game finally gave me a good scare... the first monster in that room ambushed me but my finger was well on E by the time it started raping my face. Then I go up and kill the next one and COMPLETELY do not expect it to burst out from where it did. I managed to kill it in mid-air, which sent its corpse sailing at me. I was horrified until it landed and stayed down.

It's a bug. Sometimes it changes your difficulty to Medium if you're on Easy or Hard. Stupid stupid bug. Hard really had some amazing scenes in it, though. I about pooped my pants when a necromorph charged me and sent everything in its path flying past me and I wasn't able to tell what the hell was what.

Just tried it and it seems fine for me . Try a different browser, see if that helps.
It's seriously not worth it going through normal. It gets pretty easy even on Hard in the end, so Normal is just going to be huge bore fest. Though, I guess that'll make the replay with Impossible all the more exciting, what with not having gone through Hard.

I found Hard relatively easy... I got grabbed by a necro early on cuz I wasn't paying attention and died in the med-lab because I got cornered in. Ugh, though. That first bit of the game is just gonna be a pain in the ass now.

35. I sold them to buy the level 6 suit. I also have 75 plasma cutter shots, 42 line racks and 45 force shots in the safe. Not to mention pretty much every stasis pack that every drops in the game.
I've started selling it all off (since i'm C12 now) and just buying nodes and weapons and upgrading everything.

Well I just completed my hard run, interested to see what Helloween makes of the final chapter. I still think from 11 onwards it just becomes ridiculously easy, I was literally wading through ammo and health drops in chapter 12, unable to pick it up or even sell it.
I don't want to give anything away for people who aren't there yet, but the final boss
can be defeated by strafing left and right the whole time
The important thing is that now I can try impossible. Oh yeah, and the fully powered up force gun is a god damn beast. You can walk up to babies and shoot them point blank and they just disintegrate, they don't even need to have the tentacles out.

I'm toying around with the force gun on my new game+ and it's...hilarious. Necros'll come out, and I'm just like, c'mon, I dare you to charge me. That, or I charge them. :P
I charge into enemies all the time, even with the plasma cutter. Best way to not be afraid of an enemy is to consider yourself the hunter rather than the prey.

I just set myself up for them to have to come to me and dismember them. By the time I'm done, every necromorph in sight has a missing leg and I can just chop the arms off at my leisure.
But! Every time you're about to get a suit upgrade, it just so happens, completely coincidentally, that you get showered with semiconductors and credits like there's no tomorrow and you can easily afford the upgrade, even if you were previously rather poor. Also upgrading weapons/RIG/stasis saves money because then you'll waste less ammo and need less medpacks because you have more HP and kill necros better. Well except real engineers don't upgrade hitpoints, that's such a sissy upgrade. I bet the soldiers spent all their nodes on their RIG, the poor bastards.

This bug can be avoided by loading a saved game when you start playing instead of selecting "continue game".
"Continue game" in my experience always sets the difficulty to Medium. Don't use it at all, ever.
And yes, it's a completely retarded bug and should have been fixed looong ago.
