Doctor Who will regenerate for the eleventh time next year as David Tennant will leave the show. The wispy young lad in the lower right hand corner is named Matthew Smith. He is number 11.

    First part of the reboot. 9th Doctor. If you want some older stuff, the 4th doctor was pretty good too.


    I'm pretty skeptical of this new guy, and Tennant is like my favoritest doctor ever but Moffat's in charge now and I have high hopes that things will turn out well.

    I like it when a television program has a planned start and end and then it's over.

    Although the idea of rebooting it with a new main character works too. I just prefer a certain sense of finality.

    Just start with Tom Baker - Origin of the Daleks is a good set. Netflix has a ton of Who, I think you can watch instantly, if that is an option.

    But Baker is awesome, Davison had a great run.

    Starting with the modern Whos would also be good. Eccelston and Tennat were good. Series 1-3 are great, series 4 - not so much.

    Series 4 had a couple good moments. Midnight and that two parter (Silence in the Library/Forest of the Damned or whatever) were both pretty good. It was largely shit, though.

    Honestly with the new stuff, I would say just watch enough episodes until you have a 'feel' for the show, then skip around to all the best ones (blink, girl in the fireplace, etc).

    The series finale pissed me off so much. It was really bad, part one left off with so much promise, part two was RTD's giant fuck you to the producers.

    I'd say both parts were equally bad.

    RTD's stuff is just... Yeah, please don't get me started. The who stuff with his mark on it is offensive on a whole wide variety of levels.

    He started off so well. I really liked the Shakespeare episode in the third series. But man most of the fourth season was bad.
