I avoid pyros as much as humanly possibly and even try not even to be disguised around them when I see "Sarkus, SirToons, or Green Power Ranger" as names on the other team.
They will spy check every. Single. Person. Multiple times, too.

I try to do this. Sometimes I just don't check all the points and get ganked anyways.
The spies that spring their attack just as I give my attention to the enemies I can see are the good ones. Crafty little bitches.
(I was on a roll yesterday because the other team didn't seem to have snipers and everyone insisted on running in straight lines without jumping)
Halo has taught me that jumping is always bad, because it tells the sniper exactly where you're going to land. Most times you're lucky to hit the ground alive.
Halo taught me that console gamers have low standards for shooters, which is why I don't play Halo.
EDIT: Also, jumping won't necessarily save you in TF2 either; sometimes it's just the difference between a headshot and a bodyshot, but it's still a better solution than just trying to run really fast.
people forget that ducking also helps. if you mix it in there enough. usually a duck or two as i run to close the gap with snipers will keep me alive long enough to jumpspin sasha into their face

I'm not interested in staying alive.
I want your medic dead.
If I have to run through a hail of bullets and sentry fire to kill your pushing-about-to-uber medic, I am perfectly fine dying.

It's a hard habit to get out of.
Jumping actually makes sniping harder?
xzzy!
So this is where you've been. I wondered why I hadn't seen you in months.

Imagine I wrote an angry reply to yet another person calling all console shooters bad. Too bad I kinda ran out of what to say mid sentence so you have to image it and feel ashamed, mainly because how good my imaginative reply is.

TF2 to render every single hair on characters and give them all individual gibs in the next patch!
As long as they don't patch in 9 months of rest time every time I get injured, we're cool.
I want to create a masterwork obsidian switchblade with engravings of a thousand sniper corpses carved into the hilt, the blade having the marking of a cigarette burning brightly against the black steel, as a rememberence of the battle of Dustiblinbowlina.
Engraved on the floor is an exceptionally designed image of a Heavy Weapons Guy. The Heavy Weapons Guy is in a fetal position. The Heavy Weapons Guy is surrounded by Spies. The Spies are laughing. This image relates to the stabbing of Heavy Weapons Guy by Spies in the spring of 2052.

Sorry, not ALL console shooters are bad. I remember having fun with Goldeneye.
I just have a special hatred for a lot of the bigger name titles like Halo and Gears. They feel so clunky compared to computer titles like CSS and they won't let you play with 30 odd people.

You can say that to any FPS though.
There's been lots of times where I've jumped and ducked and then did some little jig when facing another sniper, it helps plenty. You just have to remember not to keep doing it or the other sniper catches on.

Halo can produce some pretty intense battles, and you absolutely have to be able to work with your team to overcome an evenly matched opponent. If that's not your thing I can see why it would be a problem, but for those of us who enjoy it, there's nothing better.
TF2 can be the same way but I think the class based system changes the feel of it, and leaves room for some heroic solo efforts.
Is the TF2 thread the longest sustained thread in the history of game threads on G&T? It seems like there has always been a TF2 thread on the first, or at least second page ever since the game came out.

And it still does for the xbox.

Hi!
I've been around. You know, doing stuff. Shooting people, getting shot, that sort of thing.

xzzy: Iuno halo feels too congested and it takes a year to turn around. Also it's lame. Very lame.
