Sarksus was helpful to me but he suggested maybe I should post it in chat
and since I have no reason not to
if anyone wants to make suggestions on how to fix it... help
cuz i have never written a cover letter before really. or at least not one that has gotten me a job
Dear Ms. Bottomley:
I am writing to request an interview for the Summer Business Analyst position with McKinsey & Company. I am currently a junior in Columbia’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, majoring in Applied Mathematics. Having attended a presentation on campus earlier this fall and spoken with former interns, I believe that McKinsey & Co. will be an excellent fit for my abilities and interests.
This past summer I volunteered in Guatemala with the Social Entrepreneur Corps, working in a consulting capacity to encourage and support entrepreneurial activity in rural areas. While there, I developed strong communication skills through daily interaction with various clients and leaders of other nonprofit organizations, which often required overcoming cultural differences and language barriers. I became familiar with analyzing rural economic development models and practices through a business oriented framework, and gained valuable teamwork experience. My experience in Guatemala allowed me to see how development works on a fundamental level and gave me confidence interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds, as is often required in consulting.
Along with my work and volunteer experience, my academic background in Applied Mathematics, supplemented by a minor in Economics, has helped me develop solid analytical skills. Furthermore, my elective coursework in computer science has improved my ability to solve complex problems, which is something I genuinely enjoy. I have also been an active member of Columbia’s Brazilian Jiu-jitsu club for three years, and currently maintain the club’s website while assisting with logistical aspects of running the club, which has over 50 members.
One of the main reasons I am drawn to McKinsey as a firm is that it provides the opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the world’s most talented individuals, who all come from such diverse backgrounds. I was especially impressed by McKinsey’s commitment to personal growth and feel that it is a place where I will be able to achieve my full potential. Finally, the importance that McKinsey places on having a global impact and working with nonprofit organizations is very important to me. I would be thrilled to be a part of McKinsey & Company as a Summer Business Analyst. I have enclosed my resume for review and I look forward for the chance to interview with you on campus this spring. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
ME!!!!

One mole of hydrogen iodide was injected into a one litre flask at 450 C. The following equilibrium was set up.
2HI <==> H2 + I2
It was found that .8 moles of HI were formed at equilibrium. Calculate the value of Kc.
I think it goes
2HI <==> H2+I2
Initially there are: 1 mole HI, 0 moles H2 and 0 moles I2
and after that I just kinda get lost and go around in circles...
You put in 1 mole of HI and in the equilibrium you have 0.8, which means that 0.2 moles became H2 and I2, and that means you have 0.1 moles of H2 and 0.1 moles of I2. So the concentrations are 0.8 molar HI, 0.1 molar H2 and 0.1 molar I2, because the volume is exactly 1 liter.
According to this website, Kc for this equilibrium is [H2][I2]/[HI]^2, so Kc = (0.1)(0.1)/(0.8^2). I'll leave the number crunching to you.

Thanks, state of ohio. It is comforting to know that I don't need food stamps or unemployment because my economic situation is so rosy. Really takes a load off my mind, if not my stomach.

Heh, I was about to link to the same website. I guess we both did the same google search.
Passer, where are you moving? Just into a new place or to a new location?
Bellevue, couple hours north of Oly. Not too far, but it's also going from suburban to urban, so something of a big change for me. I've never lived in an actual city before, just larger towns and rural areas.

man I hate those interviews where there are like seven people asking you questions and they are all taking notes and it's impossible to make eye contact with everyone gah gahhh

That sucks, but it's not as bad as I thought it might be.
Your car is an Audi, Doc. What happened, need a new gear shift handle? Or, wait, is that an oil change? :P
Damn, and I missed it. Only had two hours of sleep so I'm wonky.
In that case, good job Zimmy.
Also, nicely done JK.

Rad - Yeah, I'll be moving in January and spending about $1k, so I won't have extra money until March, most likely.

Hey, it's a fairly common name.
That chick had hella chili-mellons!
Ask one of them when they're on.
Actually I am getting a pretty good deal on the repairs. It's standard maintenance stuff that I've just been putting off for too long.
You want to feel better? I dropped 1800 dollars in my car over the weekend.

So I'm looking at Wikipedia and I'm seeing that the formula for Kc is basically:
Kc = ([C^c]*[D^d]) / ([A^a]*[B^b])
I'm using different letters because fuck Wikipedia and their Greek letters.
So your equilibrium is of the general form:
2A <===> C+D
So your Kc equation is:
Kc = (C+D) / A^2
Think you can get it from there?
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Is it sad that this was my exact thought?

Is there anything of interest there? I don't know much about the area, other than that Privateer Press is located there.

Getting out for $400 is a hell of a deal. I mean, shit, I don't even think you can get a rim for that much.

It's your fault! If you would stop being cheap cheap and hire a tutor, I wouldn't have to sit here and do his homework!
