Edit: Beaten, but at least I brought up the issue of the unreliable narrator.
I think the lack of borders in the last two panels is to show that they are remembering something.
Well, they had like four hilarious ones in a row but I'm not overly impressed with this one. Almost felt like it should have been longer.

Most often times these are highly familiar images, such as Jesus, as seen here in the lower left hand corner of a kitchen floor tile.
Sometimes the Virgin Mary appears in your brain scan.
But only if that is the more familiar image to us. For those of us here, we might look at the area where Mary's belly is and see Chewbacca.
We do it all the time around here with car headlights and designer chairs.
It's not limited to visual stimulus. While we might be seeing a lot all the time, we're hearing stuff all the time too, and we filter out patterns as well.
