Can someone clarify the convention center parking situation? I know it's $26.00 per day roughly and that they close at midnight but I am unsure on how you pay, credit card acceptance, and policies on staying in the garage past midnight.

they accept credit card and cash (cash only when the booth is open). You can stay in the garage past midnight (you are digned an overnight fee so the cost to park there per full day with that comes to around $32)

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but is there an official gallery of photos from PAX '08? I seem to recall there being one last year for '07. Specifically, I am after the full version of the photo being used in the banner ads atm, with all of the vault boys being held up. Anyone who had it, I'd greatly appreciate a link or upload to photobucket or some such.

Will Khoo or someone else be able to tell us when tickets are starting to run out? Maybe when there's 10-20% left or something.

I've already bought mine, but I know a few people who are still on the fence and it'd be nice to know when they'd really have to decide before it's too late.

Hi, this will be my first time at PAX. Coming from Australia. I was thinking about bringing my 10 yr old son, but was wondering how child-friendly PAX was (beyond language). Are there many kids attending? Are they able to participate in games and such? Thanks.

So, my boyfriend is probably going to register for BYOC, and i'm wondering if i would be allowed in that zone with him if i'm not registered for BYOC. I keep hearing mention of how good it is as a place to come and chill between activities, but I don't want to take up a space someone else would be using for gaming for my MacBook which primarily loaded with design software (the only games i have are Spore and a few puzzle games distributed by PopCap).

If I am not mistaking, the ones with BYOC Pass may only enter in/out of the area. BigRed or someone else will totally correct me if I am wrong.

Though it's been my experience that people without badges can get in with those who do have badges, so long as the badge-holders ask nicely. Has that changed?

    That was never the case.

If a non BYOC attendee is looking for someone and they ask nicely, if its important, ill have a staffer escort them while they are in the room.

Yes! For the love of my sanity people....
Not everyone has the option of blowing a large chunk of cash on something 6 months in advance only to find out it might be wasted if they can't attend last minute.
Telling people to just deal with it and hope someone else will buy it off of them at the last moment is a pitifully weak alternative to at the door sales

or what about if they sell out of at the door tickets (if there are any) before they get through the line?

Personal opinion here but this is what pax is starting to become becuase its getting so large. with the limited attendance, theres a very real chance of it selling out in pre-reg. So people will have to pony up for the ticket in advance if they want a chance at going. The open door policy of pax in the past (where anybody can get in) is sadly probably dead now :(
Good news is, if it does sell out in pre-reg, and people who did buy tickets figure out that they cant go, they could easily sell it on the forums im sure :P

Is Will-call a terrible ordeal, worth avoiding? Or is it simple, quick, and straightforward.
If not, there is an option in the registration that will mail tickets to you via fed-ex

Oh, and is it routine to camp out infront of the place on the first day? This will be my first PAX so I've got lots of questions.

Will-call should be easy this year.

You cant camp out in front of the WSCTC before pax. Seattle police will shoo you away.
You can line up in the line room a couple hours before pax opens though.

Line room sounds... awesome. I doubt we know yet, but what time does PAX usually start, and is it worth it to wait in the line room (which I imagine is in WSCTC right?) When is will-call and will it prevent me from getting into the line room and such. Thanks for answering my never ending pile of questions

    Wikipedia wrote:
Will call is an American term for a box office where patrons of entertainment venues go to pick up already-bought tickets for an event, such as a play or concert, either just before the event, or in advance. With the onset of the Internet and e-commerce sites, which allow customers to buy tickets online, the popularity of this service has increased.

Will-call is a line where you pick up tickets you've already purchased. For PAX, I imagine you'd need the confirmation page with the barcode on it and maybe some form of ID. In exchange for viewing this material, the Enforcer behind the desk will give you the passes you've purchased and the small swag bag(s) every attendee gets.

edit: Of course I get ninja'd by Wikipedia.
