Program to help with time management/goals

I'm looking for some kind of free program that I can use to schedule like a virtual "to-do" list every day. I've been trying to find a way to prod myself into doing more art studies every day but with my computer it's too easy to get distracted. I feel like having a tangible checklist will help me get through all the things I should be doing for the day. Some of you may be wondering why I don't get out a piece of paper and make a real to-do list, but I feel like having something pop up whenever I go check a forum or my e-mail will be much more effective than a pad of paper for me. Any suggestions appreciated

Rainlendar is a calendar/schedule program. It may take a little adaptation, but my wife and I use it and we think it's great.

I found that getting a PDA, and putting all my stuff in that became a great way to manage things. It's even got an alarm setting, and you can keep it with you.
