Any advice anyone?

I'm rock solid on the math parts and law. But I'm struggling with the multitudes of brand/generic drug names. Are there any online study aides?

I've never studied for this exam, but when I've needed to cross reference drugs and brand names for work, I use a copy of Mosby's Drug Consult. They don't have the online service anymore unfortunately but the print copy is $40.

How many drugs do you need to know? Could you just make flash cards?

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

if you've got enough time 'till the exam, do flashcards. Even add mnemonics to the cards if they work for you.

I haven't signed up for the test yet. So it looks like flash cards then.

On a side note, when you put "excpt pharmacy technicians" into google the 5th result is this thread!

I had the benefit of working in a pharmacy for some time before I took the exam, so I picked up on a lot of the brand/generic names.

Make sure to know the major ones. That's the ones they care about.

Sorry to necro-post but I figured I had something to post about.

    I passed!

I didn't I would but the studying the key letters in the drug names worked very well for me.

    Stuff like :

    -mycin
    -cod
    -cillin

That saved my ass. 407 out of 500!

Now I got to volunteer at the local free clinic because no pharmacy will hire without any experience. (Some kinda of training phobia)
