I really should be going to sleep soon, but instead I'm going to go get one of the updated parking ticket books for the new year, among other things.

I'm staying up all night because I have to pick my uncle up from the airport at some ungodly hour in the morning and my sleep schedule's been all backwards
gonna watch Band of Brothers on Bluray and maybe play some TF2

Mysst you know all sorts of useful things about computers.
Actually, that's just a meaningless amalgamation of computer terminology he lifted from a web hosting advert.

I read that and smiled and then took a mouthful of water and then realised it merited more than a smile and had to stop myself from spitting water on my laptop.
i'm at work drawing pictures
so... the same as everyday.
oh p.s. artists! i tried cs4. on a mac, it's wonderful, i hear it's laggy on pc.
but seriously... wonderful.
I want on CS4 so hard. I'm still using CS and have to go through this whole rigmarole of getting our designer who uses CS3 to save InDesign files in the interchange format and then get another with CS2 to open it and save it in interchange again before I can open it. But with CS4 I WILL HOLD ALL THE CARDS, YOU HEAR ME ALAN!?!?!
it's only 600$ for a student edition and about 250 for an upgrade
you can buy them at some university computer stores, just get a friend with a student id from that university to get it for you
you're technically only supposed to buy those if you're a student
but i am one, just not with a school that's accredited by the places adobe wants them to be
so i'm not cheating the system yet
seriously though... 1700 vs 600? you're damn right i'm pulling the student card as long as i possibly can.
i should mention if you're buying student edition and using it on a company computer or if you make money off your home copy exceeding 5k a year, you could get run into trouble if you ever get audited because it is specifically for personal/educational use
but i don't make NEARLY 5k a year off freelancing anymore and my company computer has the cs3 that my company bought for me.
for most people who are hobbyists, it's safe to say you're not really doing anything bad by getting the student edition
it's better than stealing it which is what most people do.
