I'm downloading it, I think I'm going to do a comparison between how I've written for my theater work, and the way it interprets them.

They mention training it, so apparently weak AI is involved. They said it was trained with 300 songs, so better results may be achieved just by using a larger training set (which may be processor intensive and/or require human anotation of the training data).

This is the absolute worst.
That said, I'll be purchasing Songsmith. As the video clearly depicted shortly before the 2 minute mark (we'll say the 1:45 time frame), Songsmith is in fact a pussy magnet.

I'm suprised that they are trying to charge too. I've never seen a Microsoft research project that charged money.
I find watching the chords changing when you adjust the jazzy and happy sliders hilarious.
Oh it's not happy? Relative minor, bitches.
Jazzy? 7 after everything

Oh man this is glorious! What would happen though if I just spoke into this thing? Would that send it off the deep end? Like.. choose a jazz beat like you'd hear at a crazy poetry jam. Would I sound like a cool beatnik? I bet it wouldn't do much.. but it's worth a shot.

Holy shit downloading! This is incredible.
Damn, lower the happy slider a little, dude.
Crap, evidently I don't know the difference between jazzy and happy.
I am SO going to out do you when this download finishes some time next week.

At this rate I'll never get Tom Sellek's mustache!
Edit: But here's a link to the demo installer so you can get it faster than 13KB/s

It reminds me of Dr. Horrible. >.>
I tried even singing Floyd Collins into it. It was not happy. Once its picked its key it stays there come hell or high water.
Next I'm going to try recording a guitar solo and see how if handles it.
(or am I?)
The song should've been 'Still Alive'
Because of it NOT being 'Still Alive' I'm rating this an F minus
MINUS

Oh man.. HIT SINGLE!
If I do Death Metal Vocals WILL I GET DOUBLE BASS PEDALIN' DRUMS?
Saying things through song is fun.
That is brilliant.
edit: Overlord yes!
that's hot.
Oh man that's fucking sweet
If Songsmith can make shit sound that cool, is...it....good?
2009 is a year of Updates - one every Monday. Hopefully. xx
