I thought that maybe the sketch variants had a unique, one of a kind sketch on them or something.

That'd be worth it, if you had the money to burn.

Guys, bad news. I checked the mailbox and was delighted to see that Squadron Supreme actually arrived on the release date. However, my joy was quickly tempered by a blue sheet of paper, upon which was printed a letter informing me that Squadron Supreme had been cancelled and that this issue was the last issue. I checked the end of the issue...it says "To Be Continued". My sadness and rage, they are without bound.

They'd better fucking end this shit somehow, in a one shot or whatever. Now all I have to look forward to is Hyperion vs. Nighthawk. :(

edit: Ironically, this was the first issue of my subscription. On the upside, I think I'll switch the subscription to X-Factor.

So I got to the comic store today, and the main door was locked. There was a door to the left with a sign that said "Atomic Mini Open!" over it (the place's name is Atomic Comics).

I go in, and there's about a 5'x5' space open to customers. The whole rest of the store is in disarray.

    "Remodeling?", I asked.

"Yeah," the clerk said, "But we weren't given much of a choice. Somebody drove their car through our store. Broke the water main."

No, but there were only a couple there. The others were either at home, in a part of the store I couldn't see, or were temporarily transferred to one of the other Atomic Comics stores (there's four of them).

Where's this article? I hadn't been there in a couple weeks, so I don't even know when this happened.

    Edit: Nevermind, I found it.

They're not exactly a Mom & Pop store to begin with; it's a local chain. The other stores haven't had cars driven into them, last I heard.

But yeah, it's nice that they're getting help.

ABSOLUTE NEW FRONTIER: Expensive at 75 bucks, but along with containing some of the best comic-book artwork ever, this oversized DC collection of Darwyn Cooke's masterpiece has "new story pages, detailed annotations, alternate sequences and an extensive gallery of sketches, pinups, action figure art and much more!"

Who's read them? Care to fill us in?

I never read any other X title besides Morrison's, which was awesome, and I still think Astonishing is the best book currently on the market.
