Those sketches are nice, you've really got a nice coloring style going without using lines no less.

Also, I've been meaning to ask, how do you get those quick outlines around your figures. I saw you do it real quick in that tutorial, but I dunno.

Maybe my horribly outdated PS7 doesn't have that feature...

My money is on the 'stroke' layer style. Double click on the layer thumbnail- and look right down the bottom.

I like the mums form a little more in the sketch- she has nice curves, unlike in the coloured version where you have the shirt breaking it up a bit.

ahahha you guys are such fools
adam: ps7 doesn't have the layer styles
so what you could do to get around it is sort of a quick, dirty fix
if the character you want stroked is on it's own layer, ctrl click the layer to get the dancing ants selection around it, then go to select>modify>expand and expand it by like 3px or 2px or whatever size you want the stroke to be, then on a layer underneath what you want stroked, fill that selection with white.

if the character is not on it's own layer, use the pen tool to trace the whole character, or whatever you want stroked and then scale that up and put it behind the character
though i'm pretty sure the pen tool doesn't work the same in ps7 either, i can't remember.

everyone else: the missing character on the ma is starting to piss me off the more i look at it so i think i will fix it up just for myself, the client can have whatever version they want
    more to follow

Hope you are doing well beavo. I assume you are.

Even better you should pitch the mother as an insulting white stereotype, the father as an insulting black one, the daughter as an insulting hispanic one and the son as an insulting asian one... it'd be great.

    Well, they seem perfectly normal.

Much better than the likes of the freaking Jetsons. How do a mom and dad with red and orange hair have a blond son and white-headed daughter?

    Radiation? Genetic tailoring? Infidelity?

    These are important questions.

I'm grateful that your art doesn't torture me with such imponderables.
