The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret (Music up ins)

edited February 2009 in Social Entropy++
So, I have been wondering why there is no thread around here to talk about music, I mean I love music, and I love to discuss music that I like. I also enjoy reading about bands that are out there, I mean what is a better way to hear about bands than to have someone tell you about them.

So in order to fix this problem, of not having a thread to discuss bands, and find new bands, I decided to make this thread.

So let me start by telling you people about The Lost Art of Keeping A Secret

watch?v=ScgERsqzUhQ

This is an old QOTSA song, from their album Rated R but it is one of my favorites. though I am sure most of you guys know about this band. so let me tell you about a little less known band Why?

They have good songs, though I think they are alternative indie, but they still kick ass.

The Vowels Pt 2
watch?v=fLGXJ0k1I34&feature=related

Good Friday
watch?v=8cl0NdCtze4&feature=related

These Few Presidents
watch?v=WT_bgCcStCw&feature=related

And this one right here is my favorite song by them, The Hollows
watch?v=QqcckeKtSU4&feature=related

Now you guys talk here about music, and expose us to what music you like.

I want to find out about new good bands.

Sure we can, as long as we just keep it in the rock genre.

White Stripes are bad ass, I remember that back in High School I didn't like them, well that was because I never gave them a chance, I just remember not liking the people who listened to them. I figured that since they were stupid that the music they listened to must be stupid too, well I have learned to not judge music based on the morons that listen to it anymore, and now I give music a chance.

I spun a few of their albums recently, and they kick major ass.

I love how they sound like a garage recording for the most part, but a well produced garage sound. and I also love the simplicity that they bring to the field.

    Jack is an amazing artist.

Delta Spirit has only released one album, Ode To Sunshine.

With Electrelane, No Shouts No Calls is one of my favorite albums of all time. Very instrumental but when her vocals come out, it is amazing/

Haha, the mars volta live. The general consensus I've heard about them is that they're a bunch of pretentious twats who just jam for the entire concert and don't bother to play anything from their albums, which is okay if that's what you're expecting, but if you want them to play their songs I could understand being pissed off.

That is the best part though, you get to see genius at work.

I mean that must have been what it was like to be at a Hendrix concert, an hour long jam session.

Just so fucking amazing, to see a jam session.

Though Mars Volta does play songs from their albums live.
