I've been really into Volbeat lately. The mix of Heavy Metal and Rockabilly is so awesome.

    oh damn
Murder By Death is excited to announce a very special headlining tour to kick off at the beginning of February 2009. The cross-country dates bring the band through many markets they missed recently. They will be performing the complete two albums in their Desert Series, 2008's Red of Tooth and Claw and 2003's Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them in sequence. The story begins with the anti-hero's younger days in Red of Tooth... and culminates in a battle between good and evil set within a small desert town in the album Who Will Survive... This 21-song set will also feature original keyboardist Vincent Edwards on piano and organ. Accompanying the show will be a program of the evenings set, as well as a large video projection at select shows.

Now I really want to go to the show. D:

i keep thinking i should change my av, maybe throw in a new sig for a theme

but then i decide it's too much work
Ive always been curious if your av was a reference to something. Have I asked this before? Because it sorta reminds me of Somera from the Ring.

A 21-song set sounds pretty intense, but hey - that is what beer is for.

Hmm I saw a bunch of bjork albums at the library today but after all the satire on her Im not sure if I could take it seriously. Is there a good one to get my feet wet with?

Also I am giggling so hard after finding out that joey the rat from boy meets world is in Rilo Keily.

my favorites are homogenic and post. homogenic is the more mellow of the two; i find it really relaxing (for the most part). but post probably has my favorite individual songs.

I don't get how people can complain about a band jamming too much live, I mean how is that not awesome, you get to see the band create. I love the idea of a band jamming live, you get to see their rawness and how a song can devolp.
    Improv jamming is the best.

well if it replaces a song you really want to hear then it's kind of a bummer

depends on the show and the band, though

man sometimes it just don't work. i think it's important for a band to strike the right balance. kaki king, for instance, is superb at that.

and oh god her jam with the mountain goats on their recent tour was magical.

Hey guys the Raveonettes show was pretty good, especially considering it is their first show together in like four months

Aly, Walk With Me is about seven times better live than it is on the CD

    Funeralopolis

Hell yeah man! They are ridiculously heavy. I always wonder how bands like that make everything so heavy.

Edit: have you heard "Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine"? It's basically a doom metal supergroup.

So does really really liking the Fleet Foxes make me a giant homo? I saw them in NYC last year after I mentioned I liked them to a friend. She got us both tickets and it was super-rad.

I also got to see Mastodon in Poughkeepsie, local place called The Chance, last fall as well and they were fucking amazing, except that it got called after about 6 songs since one of them was very sick and kept ducking backstage during songs to either throw up or something. Considering tickets were pretty much free since my little brother has played there I can't complain.
