Man, the only "deal" I ever got was no sales tax from buying my 360 from the bases BX.
edit: wait, I take that back. I remember a while ago Walmart had FFXII on their shelves in 3 different places. 1 of them said 30 bucks, the other 2 said 50. All 3 said FFXII on the tag and looked identical.
When we grabbed it out of the cabinet, it wrang up as 30 bucks, so huzzah.

I recall getting several copies of FFXII for $5 at TRU, along with Stranglehold, Prey, and about several other games I can't recall. Nice sale!

I ended up getting Battlefield: Bad Company for the 360 for about 6 bucks. The jackass who happens to be related to me so I have to call him "brother" actually came through on my birthday and got me a $25 Wal-mart giftcard.
I don't know why Bad Company was only $30, I think it is pretty damn good so far.
I just paid $25 for it and I think it was worth every penny. I enjoy the single player campaign more than Call of Duty, and the multiplayer equally as much. If the unlock system wasn't so crappy it would probably be my favorite MP game.

I bought a few copies of it for $12, and I've been playing the hell out of it ever since. Up to rank 10-11 already. What's your issue with the unlock system though? I got 5 free weapons just for punching in codes and registering, and I've already unlocked all of the special alt weapons for each class.

Mainly the fact that you need to unlock half the basic items that make your class useful at all. Before you unlock C4, spec ops gets what, a tracer gun? The find all 5 wasn't too bad once they released the codes on their site, but getting the veteran program working for the last gun was kind of a pain in the ass even though I already owned BF2142 and northern strike.
Having 5 more guns exclusive to the gold version, or until you reach the highest rank is also a pain in the dick. CoD4 didn't need to give people this kind of run around just to unlock guns that are already in the game.

True, it just honestly didn't bug me all that much. They should have had class inclusions in the first place, but as far as the guns go, it really doesn't make much difference with killing peeps. They mostly change up your playstyle slightly. The unlocks for 2142 were FAR better, but I still hold that one as the best BF out there. For what it is though, BC is pretty damn good, even with crappy unlocks, but you said just as much.
Edit: Oh, speaking of vet program status, I still can't unlock my BF2 vet status. EA support gave up and just handed me a 1942 serial. I had played it but lost my original, so it worked.

Suikoden II for NZ$40. Online it usually sells for around NZ$250.
Suikoden 2 for $40 USD is a good deal. What you got could be considered theft (or the deal of the century).
It was a pre-rental copy, so it has all their stickers on the disc that'd probably rip off the disc art if I tried to take them off but yeah, it was still a fantastic deal. I'd barely heard of the game beforehand too, so I was pretty pleased when I found out how much it'd usually cost to play. It's still one of the "best games I've ever played".
The original US Earthbound package, including the guide with the horrible scratch and sniff, for $20. It was in the late '90s, when game stores were trying to get rid of all their SNES stock.
I still have the guide, but I lost the game long ago. It's still fun to read it every now and then.
I also got SHOGO: MAD for $3 at a thrift store. Great game, great deal. Max Payne 2 for $2 last year and Heavy Gear 2 for 75 cents.
I work in a thrift store, and this game is sitting on the shelf of CDs there right now, and for the same price. We also just got Diablo (in the original box), Riven, and Myst III Exile. All would've been the same price ($3) except Diablo which might have been $4, I didn't look.
It's the game I played when I was young, that and Doom and Wolfenstein. My dad would always play it on his computer and me and my sister would bug him to let us play until he gave in.
I was thrilled when I saw it for sale at a thrift store, as I ruined our old copy.

I just thought of another awesome deal I got.
My grandpa got a black label copy of FF7 and Wild ARMS for free. My grandma worked at a Harvey's for a while and he was waiting in the dining room waiting for her to get off work and he found them just laying on a table. Some guy left 'em there. He eventually gave them to me.
My best deal was at a garage sale. I found a HUGE box full of stuff.
It had:
One NES. (I already had one, but what the hell.)
1 NES controller. (Again, had one, now have two.)
And 35 NES GAMES!!!
Notables include: Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario Bros + Track and Field + Duck Hunt on one cart, 1943, and Zelda.
The box also contained a SNES, 1 controller, and 3 SNES games. They were, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Aladdin, and Lion King. All awesome games.
Heres the best part: Got it all for 15 bucks. Kick ass.

I've told this story around here back when it happened, but I don't mind repeating it.
As a dutiful son and husband, I went with my mother and wife to our local Flea Market one Sunday morning. At best I thought I might snag some strange comics or used science fiction books. I had $15 in my pocket, not expecting to spend much.
Strolling around, looking at junk, my eyes locked on a furniture merchant with a table that had three boxes filled with NES and SNES games - cardboard boxes at all. These babies were as close to minty as you could get (other than a cigarette funk to them - they obviously came from a smoking household). there were about 30-50 games total. A sign proclaimed them as being $1 for the NES, $2 for SNES games. I started to browse, expecting crap...
and found Chrono Trigger. Complete. Map, book, cardboard insert, plastic game cover, ads and all.
Shaking, I looked through the rest of the games. They were all in similar condition - the worst I'd call very good, most near mint to mint. The NES games all had the styrofoam insert, and most even had the plastic bag that used to cover the cartridge - not to mention all the sleeves were there.
I asked the guy if the games worked. He shrugged and admitted he didn't know. He got them in an armoire that he had purchased - the seller didn't know they were in there, and didn't want them back when he called about them.
At that time, Chrono Trigger was going for about $100 on Ebay. I asked why he didn't Ebay them - I'm honest to a fault. He responded, "That old shit ain't worth anything - everybody wants the new games!" Ironic, that, coming from an antique furniture restorer.
Suspicious that nobody could be that dumb when it came to the value of these games, and convinced they wouldn't work, I cherry picked my way through the games, picking the ones in absolute best shape, RPGs, and titles I knew were rare. For $12 total I picked up...
Chrono Trigger
Lufia 2
Final Fantasy III
Robotrek
Dragon Warrior/Quest 1-4.
He offered to sell me his whole lot for $30. My wife would front me the cash, but he seemed a bit too eager. I didn't want to get ripped off, so I just took the ones I had.
They all worked. Flawlessly.
I went back the next week, found the guy as he was setting up. Unfortunately, he had sold the rest at another market. I was okay with that, as I had certainly gotten the cream of the crop/
TL;DR - Chrono Trigger, Lufia 2, FF III, Robotrek and DQ 1-4 for $12, all complete.
I got my 360 Elite + Gears of War 2 + Gears of War 2 Lancer Replica + extra wireless controller for about $420 on Black Friday on Amazon.

I found a used copy of the Legend of Zelda Collector's Disc that you get in a pre-order for Wind Waker for 30 bucks Canadian. It has Legend of Zelda, LoZ II, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and a Wind Waker demo. Awesome. That's the only one I can think of right now.
I didn't play morrowind or BG2 until well after they came out. Got the full BG2 pack (BG1, BG2 and ToB) for $15 I think, and the Morrowind GOTY (with Bloodmoon and Tribunal) for twenty.
For a total of $35, maybe 400+ hours of total gameplay....

$10 at a local game store. I wanted to buy an old game system that I hadn't owned, so I bought a used Saturn and asked the owner if he had any copies of NiGHTS. He told me not at the moment, but if he tracked one down he would grab it and I could buy it from him. Two days later he had it. On a Monday. Which means it didn't come through the mail.
Honestly, I'm kinda scared as fuck to ask him where and how he got it, and for so cheap.
story about guy who didn't know what he was selling
This is why I used to browse pawn shops occasionally. The owners usually had no clue that certain games retain value, so you'd see a bunch of games in a bin with a sign saying everything in there was $5/each or $10/each. Some times you would get lucky and walk away with a game worth $40 or $50.
Now it seems like they all check eBay before they price anything.
Sega ran a promotional contest for Saturn Bomberman on their website back when the game was released in the States. I was one of ten who received a free copy of the game.
Man, this thread just keeps reminding me of all the crap I've gotten cheap or free. Thinking back, I also recieved:
About 50+ NES games, controllers and peripherals, including Final Fantasy 1, Zelda, and several other major titles.
Several dozen genesis games for almost nothing, including Herzog Zwei.
A Saturn and about 50+ games for free, including Guardian Heroes and several other good titles.
A ton of Sega CD games free or a few bucks, including Dark Wizard, and Lunar Eternal Blue.
A SNES and several games, including FF3 and the Super Star Wars series.
Gamecube, controllers, mem cards and a few games to start off with, the rest of the games for it were $5 at most, including Fire Emblem and PN03.
Last thing I recieved I just mentioned, a White PSP and several games for nothing, including the latest Battlefront game and Lego Batman.
All of this stuff was either completely free, or $5 or less. I think the only money spent on that list was for a few games for the cube and Sega CD. I also recieved Game displays through friends working at EB / Gamestop, including some rare PS1 displays for Lunar 1 and 2.

This has less to do with price, but more to do with making the right decision:
While at Toys R Us years ago (around 10 or more I'd figure), my mom told me I could get a game. I'm wandering around the game section, and I see a box by itself on one of the shelves. It catches my eye because it's a it's one of the few Super Nintendo games I could find, and the price was pretty cheap (around $20). I have never heard of the game, but something compelled me to give it a shot. Besides, the box was big, so that was pretty interesting.
That game? A sealed copy of EarthBound. With strategy guide. One of my best instinct purchases ever.
