Half Life 2 Coop - Full Story, not just random "missions"

A quick google has netted me 3 mods, with very poor FAQs. What I'm trying to find is a Coop mod for HL2 that will allow LAN play for 2 people over the entire story. I *think* synergy will work, and there's a Garry's Mod campaign that will do it, but I don't have GMod (nor the person who wants to try it).

Are there any other mods, or does anyone know for sure about this?

Is there a particular reason why you don't want to go with GMod? That'd be my preference...

Synergy will work, though I've never tried it over LAN. There will be a couple of areas cut out, though.

Synergy is probably your best bet. It's free and you can download the newest version straight off steam. Gmod doesn't always works, and it has a tendency to load alot more than you need for just coop story mode.

If you couldn't get synergy to work then you'd probably want to try gmod.

Synergy does this, and the maker got rid of that extra crap they had in there (retarded skins/levels). You can easily do HL2 over LAN I assume, since we did Ep 2 with six (or was it eight) on the internets.
