Audio Video Loadout vs My PC

edit: yeah, title sucks, sorry :(

Ok, so Meep got a new apartment!

As such I need to figure out what I'm doing with my PC and TV/stereo stuff. My 8800 has a component out on it that runs to the TV for movie and media center fun. That all works fine. Eventually I want to get a stereo to hook up, and a decent TV to replace the one I have (loaner from a friend)

I'm throwing around the idea of getting HDMI hookups for my PC to the TV stuff, the picture quality is similar, but the brightness and color quality is noticeably better from what I can see.

I need to pick out a stereo (a/v switcher thingey or whatever) that will let me hook everything up with some decent speakers, with room for adding in stuff like an xbox3 or a PS360. I also need to pick out a TV that puts out a fairly good picture. I don't need a 52 inch monster or anything but, the one I'm using right now I think is about 42 inches which I am really getting used to.

Also, its a bit of an older project, but I have an old media box that I wouldn't mind getting running again to act as a media server. The apartment is wired up with fancy pants gigabit Ethernet too so transfer rates should be good to go.

I need tips, ideas, tricks, all kinds of stuff. Basically I want to make it all work together somehow XD
