I have a mint, boxed copy of Faselei, for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Yes, i know this is a 'things you want' thread, rather than 'things you have', but hey...
Shame the unlit crappy screen of its native system makes it fairly unplayable except in bright lighting, but huzzah for RACE!PSP...
What i want is the Japanese Resident Evil 5 collector's edition, and not the crap we're going to get here in Europe.
I wanted one of the Dreamcasts with the special S.T.A.R.S. skin for Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Capcom only released them in Japan, though, so I never really had hope in seeing one stateside.
It's a case. The DC had a ton of awesome collector's edition system cases, the majority of them released in extremely limited numbers and in Japan only. I don't think the US got any other than the Sega Sports one.
Oh yeah, I've like some of the mad sega consoles, like the one that is a Mega Drive + Sega CD, but also a portable CD player, or a White Sega Saturn, or the TecToy ones too.

I think there was a pink Sakura Taisen version of the Saturn released at one point.

I don't even know why I want it, I just fucking do
I don't even know of any games that are released for it
Also, second (fourth?) the "wanting to get Tomba!" sentiment
I still need to get Suikoden II for the Playstation. Then I'll have all the Suikoden games (yes, I have Suikoden, and it's still in the plastic wrap, never played; not sure why I haven't played it yet).
T-MEK. 2 of em for 4 player battles. I loved this game and the bass in the chairs was like a massage. I would get tired of it eventually and want to have a better tank battle sim in it.
Ah, yes. The intro from the beginning is burned into my memory. But the way it sounds when you skip through it real fast to get into the fight.

Good man.
Suikoden is like the epitome of console role playing games
I don't blame you for wanting to break the seal on the original, but then again, the original is OMG SO MUCH FUCKING AWESOME. I suggest you get another copy so you can have one playable and one mint
That would be 'highway robbery'. O_o DDS2 is not even close to being that rare.
I know! It's ~$60 on Amazon.com, but they won't ship video games from third-party retailers to Canada. It's bullshit. What's even worse is that some UK sites have DDS2 for ~$30, but it's the PAL version.

Are the 'lesser' handheld systems rare at all? The ones that failed to crush the Gameboy - the Gizmondo, the Tapwave, the N-Gage, the Wonderswan, the Nomad, and Game.com.
I want a Game.com just so I can smash it in response to this commercial.

I have Panzer Dragoon Saga and an actual Nomad along with a few other rare items, but I've always wanted to get Magic Knight Rayearth for the Saturn. I saw it around the same time I picked up PDS (back in '97 I believe) from a Gamestop and thought I could come back later for it - been kicking myself for it ever since.
It's not as rare or sought after as it should be, last I checked.
I bought one for new at $49.99 a few years after it came out for a friend.
That's a fairly good price for the last US Saturn game ever made.
I got my copy the day it came out, and it was the only one the store had.
Doing a quick search on Google Shopping shows me that the cheapest I could find it would be $80 if I want the US version or around $15 for the import. Still seems a bit expensive for me at the moment - some are still going for a bout $150 even.
I don't know how rare it is (rare enough I didn't find a google image of it) but I picked up a FFVII promo t-shirt at Goodwill for $3.
It has the Squaresoft logo on the front-left chest and Cloud on the back with some info on him like Class: Ex-Soldier etc, etc.
It was a neat find.
It came from Sears. I have one, as I bought FFVII there when it came out.
Also, some of you may want to hurt me but some of my prize gaming possessions
FFVII original copy
Valkyrie Profile in damn near untouched condition
Steel Battalion (including giant controller of course, in the ridiculous big ass box)
Honestly, I'm not sure there's much I want. Though Square-Enix has some pretty fun stuff in their online store. I'm a sucker for anything FFVII.

I....I had no idea Tomba was so coveted.
I bought that game and Tomba 2 for my sister when it first came out because she likes the younger-oriented games, and Tomba looked like a younger game.
I may have to head to her apartment soon and find out what all the hullabaloo is about.

I have a game.com, it was great for playing lights out and...solitaire.
Get out of my head Fizban and quit saying what I was going to say. :P The dual cartridge thing, in theory was a good idea, though. Too bad the thing sucked so hard that there was no point in having any games for it, much less two.

I was in Japan right during the release of the GBA. The Wonderswan Color was HUGE over there, specially because it had all the One Piece, Yugioh, Dragon Ball, and who knows what other licenses. But during the 11 months I got to spend over there, I saw how the WS slowly was forgotten and replaced by the huge amount of GBA RPG titles.
I got myself this over there:
And I also found the Evangelion game for N64, but it was like $60
Ugh, you just reminded me. I got myself an orange GBA while I was there, and I bought Ghouls 'n Ghosts for it one day before my flight back to the U.S.
I bought it because I said "This game is fucking hard, it's gonna take me ages to beat!"
So I'm the states, I go to Target and I bought Golden Sun. While waiting for the bus, I pulled the Ghouls 'n Ghosts cart out of my GBA and put in Golden Sun. I play it for maybe 20 minutes, get on the bus, and when I get to the hotel, I realize I left G'nG back in the food court at the Target.
This was 7 years ago and I'm still pissed about it.
As far as collection type things... I always keep my eyes open for Megaman X 2/3 SNES carts. Too pricey on ebay for me. Also the RE2/RE3 re-releases on gamecube. I had no idea those existed until it was too late.

If you're talking the 20/60 gig that use the PS2 hardware, that's easier to find than you might think - you're just not going to get a new, sealed console without paying through the nose. Try EBs, Gamestops, and pawn shops. The idea of buying a console for several hundred dollars from a pawnshop isn't too appealing to me, but beyond the cherry 60 I found at a Blockbuster, the only other place I saw one was a local pawn shop.
If you're fine with the software BC of the old 80 gigs, try to find a MGS4 bundle.
Either way, I'm sure Craigslist would have 'em. Lemmie check amazon...
Yep, 60 gigs starting at Amazon for $470.00. Come to think of it, that's almost exactly what I paid for my 60.

They're not worth a huge amount because although supply is low, demand is low too. Which is a shame, because they're fucking awesome.
Finding games for it is a bitch, though. I'm trying to track down Metal Slug: 2nd Mission and SNK Vs. Capcom, among others.
I love my Neo-Geo Pocket. It's such a shame SNK went bankrupt so soon, or it would have been real competition for the Game Boy Colour. If you're looking for games, eBay UK tends to have a good range, and Play Asia has a selection here: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-m3-49-en.html
They're region free, and almost all games have both Japanese and English on the same cart.
Last year one of my friends moved to another city and I went to visit him. When I went over he showed me these new games he bought, a sealed copy of Chrono Trigger for the SNES and a Sealed copy mario kart for the snes. I was so jealous, apperntly he only paid 10 bucks for each.

Also a CD-I with all three zeldas, 'cuz I'm ocd and unreasonable when it comes to owning every game in my favorite franchise.

That game is one of the reasons I don't have my DC locked away in a display cabinet, I just have to pull that game out every so often.
What I want however is a copy of Steel Battalion. Okay, really more that controller so I can use it for flight sims.

You forgot the Neo Geo Pocket.

Rare? Yeah. You don't see a lot of them in the wild. Worth a lot? No. They go for about $20-$40 on the eBay.
