Just something else I wanted to say (regarding a post on the first page about wanting FF7,FF8 and FF9)
When I worked at EB Games ages ago this guy wanted to trade in a bunch of PS1 games but we couldn't accept them, he just so happened to have in his collection FF7-9, I told asked him what would want for them and he was all:
Guy: $15.
Me: ok so $15 each?
Guy: Nah nah, $15 all up.
Me: Deal.
8-)
He came by a month later saying how he looked them up on ebay and he should've charged me way more, but he was cool with it.
I would love to own the pocket gear model as well, and a complete collection of games. Because I've never heard of anyone else who has it or even knows it exists.
Are the 'lesser' handheld systems rare at all? The ones that failed to crush the Gameboy - the Gizmondo, the Tapwave, the N-Gage, the Wonderswan, the Nomad, and Game.com.
I want a Game.com just so I can smash it in response to this commercial.
<snip snip>
:P
I bought one at a Goodwill for shits and giggles. I've since accumulated eight games for it. The best one IMO?
There's alot of nice and interesting responses to this thread of what everyone wants/covets. I don't think there is anything in particular that I need, I have just about every Obscure/Rare game related item I could want, at least so far. Though, I would like that Wii Classic controller that Club Nintendo of Japan has but here's hoping it's a Platinum member prize come this July. 8-)
I've a question about the Neo Geo pocket, if I buy a pocket color can I play normal pocket games on it?
Yes, you can. Also, when you boot the Pocket Colour without a cartridge in and go through the configuration options, you can choose a colour for it to tint the graphics for monochrome games (or you can keep it black & white).

I almost bought the headgear version. Wanted the widescreen for so long.
About summer '99, I was in a now-dead hobby store called Beatties. I managed to grab the handheld version with Star Wars, and Panzer Dragoon for about £10. Good times.
For some reason, the carts don't work anymore. I think they've been out in the sun without me realising or something.
Passed up the chance to get Steel Battalion for £50 because I didn't have an Xbox. Damn, I was stupid. Saw a Neo Geo Pocket Colour for £25 with no games a while ago, thought I'd try and get it with games on eBay.
Looked at the KLOV, and I'd like to try that lightgun Voyager game. Looks funny.
If it would work on my 64 though, I'd like to try the Evangelion Game.

I got one of those when I was a kid. I have a Star Wars game and a Lost World game.
Of course the real value is ridiculous MySpace pictures.
I would love the link that I'm pretty sure I saw on this forum that shows you where you can buy replacement N64 analog sticks by itself, and not the entire controller.
I would also love to know if anyone here has bought said replacement N64 analog sticks and know if they're as good as the real thing (if they're not the real thing, that is).

I've seen a guide on how to clean the sticks. Probably easy to find on Google.

You can clean the sticks all you want, but the problem lies in why you have to clean them in the first place. The joystick gets worn down and loose.
Still want this too, even though it wouldn't really do anything.
Quake III Arena and PSO are still playable online using the BBA. StarLancer, Maximum Pool, 4x4 Evolution, and Sega Swirl all are only playable on dial-up though.
Also, I am looking for Steel Battalion. I actually found a copy of the game alone for $5 in the case but without the manual, so I bought it even though it's unplayable without the controller. I figured if I ever saw a controller without the game I might save a few bucks.

My local microplay got a bunch of these and I bought a few and I must they, they are wonderful. Even if they aren't as good as the original, they are still light years better than a limp stick.
X-Men arcade cab. I sank so many quarters into that thing at Chuck E. Cheese.
Sega Nomad just because I'd like to play some of my old Genesis games again without having to unbox the console. Plus the whole portable thing.
MGS: Twin Snakes. I've been itching to play the original again but don't want to lug my PS2 up to school with me.
SNES controller with the 4 colored buttons for Wii. For whatever reason I always wanted one for the SNES, but having it as a CC for the Wii? Badass.
Saturn console and NiGHTS because I only had a taste of it and JoD makes me want to go back and try the original.
More then anything, I someday want a CarnEvil arcade cabinet in my house. Luckily enough my girlfriend also has fond memories of that game, so this might actually be viable.

The SNES controller that's a Classic Controller actually exists as a premium for Japan's Club Nintendo you know?
Now, I'd love to have a Nomad too, but a Model 1 SegaCd would be nice to go with my model 1 Genesis and these copies of Lunar 1 and 2. Also, a AES for Metal Slug 3 without driving for a hour with $5 worth of quarters

Had it, had 1 batman game for it. I cut the wires from the headband part so I could go into the back yard and cosplay when I was 8. I was the most kickass cyborg G.I. Joe Ever.
Still want this too, even though it wouldn't really do anything.

The broadband adapters are rare? I have one sitting around somewhere. I got it for free. I have the "browser" program disc and everything too. It's pretty useless though.
They are pretty crazy rare, and highly sought after.
Sought after for what? Nothing even works online except PSO on an unofficial server. o_O I've never even used mine as i dont see a reason to. Ebay here i come? Lol.

Sought after for what?
Hacking/backup/homebrew purposes. The Dreamcast is the only commercial device capable of reading GD-ROMs out of the box, and non-BBA methods of data transfer can take up to 25 hours to read a full disc.
I bought Steel Battalion, game and control setup only, no carrying case or operations manual, for $50. Played it a few times but never really got into it. It's in my closet.
Three Gamecube to Gameboy Advance cables, three GBA SPs and three prostitutes. I still haven't given up hope on Four Swords Adventures. Thank you Nintendo.
Or a remake on Wiiware that allows GBA and DS. Because finding 4 DSs is easier then finding one Wii.

Did you not read the post I made like four inches above yours?

I seem to remember a whole lot of homebrew compilations of like 100 old Sega Genesis titles on one disc and such before, kinda what made me like the dreamcast.
I always will be searching for a copy of Tomba 1 and 2. I know that 2 at least does work on the ps3 hardware don't know about 1 though. Those games like VP were rendered preaty much unplayable by the slightest scratches.

It is to do with speed, but it's usually used going the other way - homebrew developers can test code on a Dreamcast in three ways:
Burn a CD-R - tedious, slow, and can get pricey.
Use a Coder's Cable - cheap but really slow (128 kbps)
Broadband Adapter - fast (100Mbps), but really expensive.
I too pine after a BBA, purely for PSO. I try every so often to get computers to act as dial-in servers for the Dreamcast, but it never seems to work, and never for the same twice. One of these days.
I'm hoping to someday find myself a copy of ICO for PS2. Every Gamestop I've been to doesn't have a copy but I know I'll get lucky someday.
I'd like to get old of a copy of Fable: The Lost Chapters for oXbox but from what I understand, it's also really hard to find. I might just settle for downloading Fable onto my 360.

Just wondering, but do any of you have carts that don't work any more?
None of my old ones work, and I'm wondering if it's the cart or the player.

Batman and Robin
Ponder on that for a while.
Is there nothing Capcom won't port to?
Yes, you can. Also, when you boot the Pocket Colour without a cartridge in and go through the configuration options, you can choose a colour for it to tint the graphics for monochrome games (or you can keep it black & white).
Also, the NGPC version of Pac-Man is the best.
Still want this too, even though it wouldn't really do anything.

Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
So much.

I also just want a straight-up Dreamcast and all the hits for it but that's not exactly difficult to come by if you look hard enough.
Also still trying to find Digital Devil Saga 2.
I managed to snag Nocturne and DDS1 at like Fry's one day. Oddly enough that place carries a decent selection of ps2 rpgs.
