It's a huge pain in the ass. I've tried a few times, and also had no luck. A guy in the DC community found out that there is a certain model DC modem that doesn't require a line simulator not too long ago though, so it might be worth looking into again.

I got mine back in the day from Best Buy for $10. I think I was in the 7th grade or something, I was so happy.

Are these rare? I have one of these.
I have the console, my games and nothing else.
Something maybe a little more realistic, Virtual On sticks for the Dreamcast.

Please forgive the extreme shakey cam. Its a phone camera.
I saw a guy with in in his hands, if he hadn't have put it back down I would have tackled him. Minty condition! I'm so ecstatic right now! Sells for about 55 bucks unsealed. Sealed is about 100.
No, these are not rare at all. In fact, the white ones are prone to breaking and burning down your house in the night.
However, I would be willing to take it off of your hands for the generous price of $5 plus shipping. I will PM you my address.

Jesus, really? I have two. One sealed and one unsealed.
That's pretty interesting, though I'm PAL, so there's no chance that I have that modem .
I tried connecting my SNES with my GC composite cable and the colors were washed out. The other way went fine however. Probably some small change in the resistance of the cable.
But seeing all this old cool shit, makes me want to collect again....

I'm so glad I got another chance to buy it (I had been outbid for one, but the guy relisted it).
In case you want to know what it looks like, here is a picture of it:
No more struggling with an ackward position for my hands when playing Megaman Anniversary collection and when I get Kirby 3 for the VC I won't have any problems with the control setup and its lack of a remapping option.
Also, I don't like the idea of having a Classic Controller wired to a Wii Remote.
Uploaded in much better quality! (Digital Camera Camcorder, not my Blackjack II's video.) And with MUSAK
Ordered Vol 2 for 10 bucks shipped. That ones alot less rare of course.
Complete 64DD with every game released (and some not released) check
Neo Geo Pocket Colour with every PAL game released Check
Mega CD with Snatcher you betcha
AES with loads of awesome wallet raping titles - yes
Well anyway 2 things Ive always wanted were Twinkle Star Sprites on the AES and the Biohazard 5th anniversary briefcase.
1 is about £450 at the moment and /i have little money and the biohazard briefcase I got a few months back, its pure awesome.
You bastard.
Is there one that goes N64 -> GC/Wii? I'm thinking Sin & Punishment would rock even more if it exists and works perfectly.
I WILL NOT BE DOING 3DS FOR NWC THREAD. SOMEONE ELSE WILL HAVE TO TAKE OVER.
Spoiler contains Friend Codes. Won't you be my friend?

Not to mention that some USB adapters for N64 controllers have problem with some controller models.
I also wanted a PlayYan and a DoCoMo adapters for GBC and GBA (along with some way to use them).
I still want Donkey Kong Country Competition Edition and StarFox Championship/Weekend Edition (from Nintendo PowerFest).
I'd also LOVE to have that "official" (prototype) Gamecube LCD that Nintendo demoed software on at some trade shows. They say that it used the digital port (480p) and mounted to the back clip/handle (3rd party ones only used the handle).
What are you talking about? HOURLY play?! Only idiots or rich people in rural areas paid for NATIONWIDE service. Everyone else with paid $10 a month for 50 credits or $20 a month for unlimited connects.
Even then, you make it sound like you'd be playing for an hour. The XBAND would patch games to play a round and then quit with the option to replay. One hour is a ton of Killer Instinct matches. Basically, the long-distance service was a special kind of Sprint service that shared the bill between both players so it ended up being. Deregulated long distance had just reached $0.10 a minute through, you guessed it, SPRINT and this was about $0.05 a minute.
There IS an adapter for N64->GC, and it has a whole bunch of different button configurations made for different games that you can select by holding a button combo when you plug it in/turn the system on.

Kind of expensive, though.
Awkward Commentary!
It's the same price as the SNES one.
Man, I want one, but I don't know if I have money to spend on the credit card right now.
or for some totally awesome company to release a bigass compilation of all of them for a current gen system. that would be cool too. a guy can dream right.

My local gamestore were giving these away. I got some, sold them. It was quite a shitty dvd if I remember correctly.
-MGS: Twin Snakes on GameCube - $15 at GameStop about a year after it came out
-Ico for PS2 - $20 used at a different GameStop
-The original TimeSplitters on PS2 (not sure if this is actually rare but I never see it anywhere)
-Breath of Fire II on SNES (probably not worth that much, but enough to get it put behind glass at Play-N-Trade)
Is the PS2 version of Half-Life (with Decay) rare? I got that for free from work.
My wants:
-Four WaveBird controllers and a Game Boy Player
-The Art of Metal Gear Solid
-All of the SNES greats (Earthbound, Final Fantasy III, Chrono Trigger, etc.)
-Megaman X2 and X3 on SNES
-Ikaruga, either on Dreamcast or GameCube (or both)
-Dreamcast BBA, plus keyboard/mouse/web browser (though it seems the browser is actually extremely common)
I'll definitely think of more in the coming hours.
If it is, we're both in a pretty lucky boat.
And yeah, Mouse and Keyboard is the only way to go. You know you can plug in keyboard and mouse right?
Hah, that boxart fails.
Anyway, seems you missed my post about your half life post. "You know you can plug in keyboard and mouse right?"
You edited that line in a little bit later. I just barely missed it. I'll try that sometime; the PS2 is all boxed up right now.
Hah, yeah sorry. But yeah, just plug in Keyboard and mouse in and it works great. Can custom map everything I believe.
