In my mind, the game is pretty much unplayable on the DualShock controller. You really, really do need a keyboard and mouse. I had been having trouble just aiming at/shooting headcrabs. Decay is the only reason I've held onto that game (could never get the PC port working).
If you can't hit anything with the gamepad in Half Life for the PS2, then it just means you suck at shooters. The controls are very responsive. I can swipe headcrapbs out of the air with the crowbar. Either get better or snag a USB keyboard and mouse, because playing through Decay with a friend is pretty awesome.
The game itself isn't too rare, but the demo DVD from the December 2002 issue of PlayStation Magazine is. It has a version of Uplink that can be played by entering a code in the cheat menu of Half Life and then inserting the demo DVD.

Also, I have the leaked version of Half Life for Dreamcast. I bought the Keyboard and Mouse last month to play it. I can see why it was cancelled though. (LONGGGGGGG loading.)
The build of the DC version that was leaked wasn't final. The load times for the version that was going to be distributed had load times on par with the PS2 version.
An intresting note, even though the multiplayer component was planned on being shipped later (a standalone multiplayer only disc containing HL Deathmatch along with Counter Strike and other HL mods), quite a few of the multiplayer maps were actually on the disc. If you have a DC keyboard you can load them from the console and run around in them alone.

Hm didnt know about that. I do have that Counter Strike mod for it. You have CS weapons and some bots to play around with. Interesting.
Holy shit. I thought the box art was just that, then I realized the terrible border with KONAMI LET'S PLAY IT , WAS the box...It's a box with a picture of an another box? You're kidding right?
I recently unloaded ALL of my stuff that I'd been collecting/letting collect dust over the years. Everything from Colecovision to last gen stuff was sold in less than a couple of weeks.
I've gotta say it was pretty liberating. I wasn't playing those old consoles anymore (I don't think a once-a-year playthrough of Ninja Gaiden NES justifies the closet space) and it felt good to get rid of them. The only thing I held onto was the Dreamcast for MVC2...and I'll drop that shit in a hearbeat if it ever comes out on Live Arcade.
I have the Half-Life strategy guide for the unreleased Dreamcast version. Am I to understand that that is rare?
They were on store shelves about for about two weeks when the cancellation of the game itself was announced. Any that were unsold afterward were sent back, so it's worth hanging on to.
I just snagged a Sega Saturn with Sonic Jam for $20 at Goodwill today. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it.
However, it had no controllers, and I know virtually nothing about Sonic Jam. I also see this giant-ass cartridge slot in the back (not the one behind the CD tray, I know that's for storage cards). I wonder what it could be for.
Now I pretty much want every Saturn game that has been mentioned in this thread thus far.
The slot on the back of the system (where the battery is) is used for MPEG Card, which is required for a couple of games. It also allows you to watch VCDs with the system.
Controllers can be found online fairly cheap. Pick one up as soon as you can and immerse yourself in the glory that is the Sega Saturn.
Wow, what? Those bonus packs that came with preorders of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and $60 on ebay? I didn't think they were actually rare...
It was at $30 for the longest time since they were actually quite abundant. I'm guessing they are becoming uncommon since people have stopped selling them.
Castlevania games tend to become impossible to find very quickly, and I keep seeing Portrait of Ruin at my favorite GameStop for about $17.99. In addition, they had Lament of Innocence (!!!) for ten bucks in the used bin. If I can just find sweet, sweet Harmony of Dissonance, I will be a happy boy.
I've always wanted one of those controller converter cables. Only then will I be able to use a gamecube controller aimlessly on my PS2. I know i've seen those somewhere before.
I also cant seem to find a copy of Dawn Of Sorrow.

I don't think those exist. The GC controller does not have enough buttons to work as a PS2 controller. However, PS2->GC converters do exist (I have 2). If you have both systems it's a great way to save money and get enough GC controllers for 4-player games. Be warned, though, that the PS2 analog sticks are not as good as the GC ones, although it's only been an issue for me when playing Super Monkey Ball.
I want something similar: a PS2->DC converter cable. I have an old Asciiware PS joystick and a DC copy of MvC2. These two need to meet......badly.
A Sega Saturn and Shining Force III. And since we're dreaming, Scenarios 2 & 3 in english would be nice.
I just so happen to have both of those (Saturn and SF III). SF III is still in the original case (with manual) and in pretty much perfect condition. I suppose if anyone is interested (fire me a PM), I wouldn't have a problem selling them.
I more or less put a stop to collecting a few years ago (got tired of buying things that I hardly played), but I do still specialize in all things Treasure.
I used to have a Nomad. The screen was awful, it ate 6 batteries every time I played it for a few hours, it turned off at random, and it was about as portable as a brick. I sold it and bought a CDX to play my Mega Drive games on instead.
Do not buy things just because they sound cool, the Nomad is awful. I'm much happier with all the old games collections that they keep releasing for the PSP and DS than I was with that waste of cash. I always wondered if it would work with a 32X mind, never got the chance to find out.

I can see where Microsoft got their idea for this gens PH cover.
Yeah. That is by far, the worst case I own.
I hate it so much.

The whole picture in a picture thing is giving me Déjà Vu .
I don't think that's really obscure or rare though, just not released in the US. You could probably import that fine.

Not terribly rare outside of the US, but I've never seen one while strolling through a game store.
It's tied with XBMC as the reason why I am considering modding my Xbox.

And this. I want it so bad
And any models of the Orbital Frames. There's a resin model up now for like $125.

Time to repost this image:
EDIT: On topic, I'm hoping to find a copy of Timequest at some point.

...not that anyone cares...:...:
Why the hell would you want to use the terrible GameCube controller on anything other than a GameCube?

Any game without block fort is not as good as Mario Kart 64

Astute observers should notice two games missing from the first picture: their most-recent title (waiting for a localization) and their rarest.
The only other true "collectable" that I'd say I have is the Segagaga limited set w/ t-shirt, journal, etc.
I also have some other valuable titles like Panzer Dragoon Saga and Dragon Force, but nothing truly "rare."
