Let me tell you a story: When a spy gets fired, the cut him off. They burn him.
When you're burned, you've got nothing. No cash, no credit, no job history; you're stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in. You do whatever work comes your way and you rely on anyone who is still talking to you: a trigger happy ex-girlfriend, an old friend who used to inform on you to the FBI, family too (if you're desperate). Bottom line, until you figure out who burned you, you're not going anywhere. You learn to live with the idea of people wanting you dead. Still, getting blown up isn't something you get used to.
Burn Notice follows the story of Michael Westen, a former spy who was recently forced out of the espionage game by an unknown antagonist within the government. Stuck in his hometown of Miami, he is forced to rebuild relationships and take up odd jobs to pay the bills (and fund his operations) while trying to get to the bottom of his predicament. Season One ended with Michael finally finding the apparent source of his burn notice, who ultimately blackmails him into doing their dirty work, which is the main subplot of Season 2.
January 21st begins the second half of Season 3, and we begin picking up the pieces (possibly literally) from where the show left off.
Aside from Michael, our main characters are
Sam Axe and
Fiona. Sam is a former Navy SEAL/Intelligence that used to work with Michael and also killed hordes of zombies in Evil Dead. He is "the guy who knows a guy" and works as a sort of double agent for Michael, feeding the feds misinformation about his activities. Fiona is Michael's ex-girlfriend and a former IRA operative. She is also an explosives specialist, a pickpocket and a smooth talker who is one of the few people in the world that is compatible with Michael.
My personal favorite part of the show is the informational self-narrative that is a constant throughout every episode that teaches the viewer seeminly pointless yet interesting tidbits of information, like how to break a padlock with a can of compressed air. There is also the amusing
Spy Tips that will help you break out of a prison in Turkmenistan.

but Bruce Campbell is awesome and the protagonist is actually very good too.
But then I saw it and the main character is so fucking awesome.
He's actually awesome and pretty charismatic.
The only thing I don't really like about him so far is he is presented too often as omniscient. Since there's really not dedicated skillset to what a spy can do, they can, and often do, make him able to do everything.
I'm going to go watch Oz and make a sandwich.
Maybe have some olives too.
Yeah I agree with this, but I think his major flaw is that he ends up getting too close to the people he works for, which has bit him in the ass more than once.
But the fact that he can do pretty much anything is fun because of the way it's narrated.
I do not think it is her fault. Whoever does her makeup is incompetent and overly-contours her. It is a technique used by make-up artists to 'slim' down' a person's face by applying dark powder where shadows fall naturally and applying lighter powders where light would reflect. However, she already has the face that they are trying to sculpt so when they apply her makeup, it makes her look worse.
Anyway, this is a fun show.
I do like the way the narration sort of rationalizes and explains why he does what he does. Not necessarily how he learned it, but why it's being done this way instead of another way.
it's not her face, it's her arms and shoulders and chest.
And my poor Death Knight that couldn't afford an icon.
and this one is the best
Alien Apocalypse?
the 22nd can't come soon enough
They also apply contour to the body. She just seems willowy ... trying to make her look like a muscular waif is odd, I agree. Huh, I was always more upset by the face ...
haha yeah, that one and the one where he pretends to be a whiny computer nerd
those are my two favs
If you didn't pay to see it, it's pretty great.

Most excellent, indeed.
Bruce Campbell is in this?
And he's rolling in MILFs.
But seriously, they better start putting season 2 on the box over here or someone's gonna get cut.
OK that didn't add to it.
i was pretty psyched for this show but stopped watching after a few episodes because he was such a bad actor. he speaks in a monotone and is wholly uncharismatic.
And my poor Death Knight that couldn't afford an icon.
He gets them to buy him nice cars and booze.
Season 2 isnt over yet though, the second 9 episodes start next thursday ;x
that makes more sense
Awesome!
