Recommend on: 360 games.

Hey guys. I'm trading in my Ps3 and games tomorrow for an Xbox 360 Pro. I won't get into my reasons for swapping here, but I need some new games to play! So, I'm hoping to pick up a few decent older titles and maybe a new release game.
I don't like sports games, nor do I like racing games. I really like platformers and rpg's, they are my favourite types of games, but I don't have shooting things either. So uh.. Help? :P

Well, for platformers I might reccomend Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, its sort of a mix between a platforming game and a vehicle game where you build weird vehicles to beat the level. Try the demo first though.

RPGs I'm not sure about aside from Mass Effect.

Dead Rising, brosef. But don't get OCD about saving everyone.

Braid is fantastic while it lasts.

Rock Band 2 is my go to game for wasting time.

First two arcade buys should be Geometry Wars and Castle Crashers.

Neither is an RPG or a platformer, but both are pretty iconic XBLA titles.

Dead Rising is going to be my first buy. Zombies.
I know Halo is "popular" but is it really worth it? I have a question about the Live thing. It says I'm going to get 1 month free with it. Do I need cc details to obtain it?

Aside from the obvious Halo/Gears of War, I must recommend

    Earth Defense Force.

If you like shooting things (particularly giant insects), this is the game for you.

Geometry Wars 2, that is. It makes the original obsolete. Also not sure I agree that Castle Crashers should be the #2 buy. If you want a platformer (somewhat broadly defined), I'd look at Braid, Prince of Persia Classic, N+, or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. If you want an RPG, check out the Penny Arcade games.

Nope, they don't have any of my credit card info and I have a constant live subscription.

I would recommend at least renting Halo 3 to play through the campaign, and if you enjoy it, try out online a bit.

Also, if you're into skating games Skate is fun as hell and Skate 2 comes out next week.

I would give Mirrors Edge and Assassin's Creed a rent too, if you haven't played them yet.

That depends. Do you like FPS games? It's a fun game but everything else about it is trite. I'd get Bioshock insted if you don't have a PC worth running it.

And there's demos for tons of games on Live, so you might want to try them out before you buy anything.

Halo has what I think is the best team/objective games out there. Get a good group of guys and go into BTB with Halo 3, you all will have some of the most intense matches of your life.

Unless of course you hate the game, then the games will be terrible. But if it ends up suiting your style, there's nothing better.

Overlord is a cool game. I'm like 1/6th of the way through, so that may be premature.
Another nod for Earth Defence Force: 2017.
Beautiful Katamari. Shortlived, unless you're fairly new to the Katamari franchise. There is something considerably wrong with you if you don't enjoy Katamari.
Lost Odyssey is good JRPG if you're in to that kind of RPG.
Lots of people invest weeks of playtime in to Oblivion, so look that up.

edit - Kameo is pretty decent platformer. Again I'm very early in the game...
marvel ultimate alliance, a fun action/adventure/rpg/hack'n'slash type of game.
Crackdown is all kinds of fun
Bully is good, assuming you never played it the first go around on PS2.
    Assassin's Creed.
    Fable 2 is good.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. I was waayyy into PC shooters (ie: competitive Counterstrike and Day Of Defeat) but I found Halo to be quite enjoyable. Granted in the beginning I was like "Ahhhhh why can't it just use a moouusee!?" but I got over it.

If you can find Halo for cheap, pick it up, but if not, I'd pass it over. It's a fun little title, but there's nothing really revolutionary about it, and unless you get really into multiplayer, you're not going to keep playing it for as long as things like TF2.

You'll need to hit up XBLA for your platforming needs. Be sure to check out N+, Braid, and The Maw (available next Wednesday). Crackdown is kind of a platformer. Stuntman Ignition is a platformer disguised as a racing game. It demands the same kind of skill, precision, and patience.

Yes. It's very similar in feel to the Dragon Quest games so if you enjoyed those games, you should enjoy it (and conversely, if you didn't like the Dragon Quest games, you probably won't like Blue Dragon). Make sure to download the free difficulty DLC and play it on hard mode since normal mode is insanely easy.

Step one, cut a hole in the box.

Step one. Get netflix. (its 4.99 a month or something stupid cheap like that)
Step two. Link your 360 to your netflix account. (takes all of 1min to do)
Step three. Add every movie netflix has to your instant que.
Step four. Watch all of those movies steamed to your 360.

If you didn't play it on PS3, skate 2 comes out next week.
Crackdown is to much fun to only be mentioned the one time.
    Another nod to Castle Crashers.
I bought a 360 for Geometry Wars, so you should get that by chance.
I enjoyed what I played of Last Remnant.

Honestly, 360 and PS3 are just about interchangeable (to me at least, I have both) what makes the difference are the Arcade/PSN games. Which reminds me, Every Extended Extra is good (better on psp) same goes with Lumines.

Nobody has mentioned Tales of Vesperia yet to a person who likes JRPGs? For shame!

I've heard Blue Dragon is fun, but I'm hesitant to try it because I loathe and abhor scatalogical humour, and I hear Blue Dragon has a lot of poop jokes. Just a warning in case you feel similarly. :)

I haven't played Tales of Vesperia yet myself (waiting on getting a second controller to play with the spouse), but it comes highly recommended on this board. I'm really looking forward to it, and hopefully somebody who has played it will now come by and confirm that it's actually awesome.

Grand Theft Auto IV - the story of Niko Belic, arriving at Liberty City to pursue the American Dream, only to face a harsh reality. Beautiful, wide open, and extremely detailed, living city on a scale never conceived of in gaming before, combined with fun and satisfying combat, fast paced vehicle driving mechanics, sandbox gameplay, tons to see and do, online multiplayer, and optional DLC to top if off.

    Left 4 Dead
    - 4 player co-op first person shooter with a zombie apocalypse setting from Valve. The game is driven by an AI director that keeps the music and scenarios dynamic, making every game you play that much more exciting. You can play with 2 people split-screen offline or use the System Link feature for even more players. In addition to that you can bring your friends online if you have a Gold subscription. In addition to the heavily involving cooperative scenarios there is also an exciting Versus mode where two teams of four take turns being either zombies or the survivors.

Bioshock - BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. The first-person shooter's great looking, has an engrossing storyline, a perfect balance of action and exploration and a totally customizable combat system that can be described as nothing less than video game rapture.

    Fallout 3
    - the newest western RPG developed by Bethesda (Oblivion), Fallout 3 continues the series' excellent tradition of an expansive world, combined unique combat, shockingly realistic visuals, tons of player choice, and an incredible cast of dynamic characters. Fallout 3 is a lot like Oblivion (with guns!), but it's a superior game in nearly every way, as it features a more engaging storyline, impeccable presentation, and hundreds of hours of addictive gameplay. While the jury is still out on whether or not hardcore Fallout enthusiasts will accept the game as part of the storied franchise, Fallout 3 is a must-have title for most RPG fans, as well as one of the finest games of this generation. A vast landscape that is almost relentlessly bleak in its hopelessness. It's absorbing, immersive, paradoxically beautiful, and kind of depressing to play over long periods of time.

    Call of Duty 4
    - One of the best military shooters to date, with enough realism to make you feel like you're right on the battlefield. The visuals look amazingly life-like, unmatched by most other Xbox360 efforts. The gameplay feels familiar, and at the same time refreshing and exciting. It delivers a powerful single-player experience and an almost impossibly tense, utterly addictive online component and when the two are brought together.

    Orange Box
    - a triple pack of 3 of Valve's best games; including the innovative Portal, wherein you control a portal transportation technology to solve puzzles; Half Life 2 and expansions, one of the best action and story-driven FPS games ever; and Team Fortress 2, the newest iteration of the classic multiplayer team-based FPS game

    Gears of War
    - a unique third person shooter for the 360; Combining the excellent gameplay with superb level designs, non-linear battles that allow you to use any weapon or cover at your disposal to eliminate threats, as well as completely unique storyline elements is what really makes Gears' solo mode shine brighter than any of the grim graphics in the game.

    Gears of War 2
    - Gears of War 2 builds upon the gameplay of the first title in every way. First, the scope of the action is bigger: new characters, more weapons, nastier enemies, bigger vehicles, and grander locales offer more action, more emotion, and more thrills. Next, every major aspect of the game has been refined to create heightened, more immersive experiences. Finally, the overall tone of Gears of War 2 is more badass: replete with new weapon-specific executions, chainsaw duels, and shocking boss fights. It's clear that no one set out to break things that worked before, and the most dramatic steps were taken in an effort to widen the game's appeal to players who might not be good enough to play it, otherwise. But it takes on this task without dumbing itself down and alienating the people who already liked the first game. As great as the campaign is, the game will see its longest legs from multiplayer. And from the multitude of competitive match types to the addictive and strategic co-op Horde mode; a fiveplayer co-op romp played on any of the 15 maps, Horde throws wave after wave of increasingly difficult Locust foes at you and your friends for 50 rounds, putting your teamworking skills to the ultimate test.

    Mass Effect
    - A huge, open-ended Western RPG, arguably the best in the genre. The production values are incredible, with breathtaking worlds to explore, a huge cast of memorable characters and hours of missions and side quests to delve into. When it's all over, you'll go through it again and find something exciting and new. Mass Effect sets a new standard for sci-fi gaming.

    Ninja Gaiden 2
    - Sequel to one of the greatest pure action games from the original Xbox, NGII takes everything you loved about challenging yet rewarding and deep combat and improves it in nearly every way. While not quite as punishing as the first, the game is still quite challenging, rewarding, and is more of the same quality Ninja Gaiden action you'd want.

    Soul Calibur IV
    - newest addition to the Soul Cailbur 3D fighting game series, this game expands and refines upon the gameplay of Soul Calibur. In addition to a large roster of characters and the inclusion of Star Wars 'exclusive' characters Yoda or Vader, the game also has a very flexible character creation system to create a character with the appearance, clothing, fighting style, and stats that you could want. Lots of modes and online multiplayer make this the best 3D fighting game option on the 360. Tons of depth and variety; easy to pick up, tough to master.

    Halo 3
    - The best game yet in the Halo series. Better than either of its predecessors. The single player is bigger and brawnier than before. The multiplayer, which already shadowed the competition, has improved to great new heights. The new features - Forge, Saved Films, Coop - are frighteningly addictive. Tons of features, a great single player experience with a satisfying conclusion, and robust and varied multiplayer that works incredibly well.

Oblivion - The painstaking attention to detail, outstanding worldcrafting, and inspired AI make it a huge improvement over previous first person western RPGs. Incredibly open ended, huge RPG world to explore, incredibly detailed and deep roleplaying mechanics. Another excellent western RPG.

    Rock Band (series)
    - Harmonix has outdone itself with one of the most ambitious yet finely created music game experiences ever. Rock Band lets you comprise your own virtual band, complete with Lead Guitar, Bass, drums, and vocals; wherein you can finely tune your characters appearances and "personality" on stage, then take the band on a robust World Tour mode or play online. The gameplay is excellent in every regard, and is the peak of the music game multiplayer genre. Add to that regularly updated online DLC and you have a music/party game winner.

    Guitar Hero 2, 3
    - The two latest iterations of the famous Guitar Hero franchise. Guitar Hero 2 is the finest of the series, while Guitar Hero 3 expands the gameplay options and online community options as well as adding variuos multiplayer features.

    Civilization Revolution
    - Civilization Revolution is how all console strategy titles should be. Fun, easy to pick up with a good degree of difficulty. A fantastic, frantic combination of pretty much all the highlights of previous Civilization titles rolled into one single package. Best pure strategy title to appear on consoles to date, arguably.

    Forza Motorsport 2
    - With dozens and dozens of hours of single player on top of an online mode that should provide for hundreds of hours of pure enjoyment, the game is an absolute steal. It has more of what made the first one great, and lots of new features that set it apart from the rest of the games in this genre. With its deep customization and hearty online component, this is the best racing sim on the 360.

    Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4
    - two brilliant, vast, and detailed arcadey racing games on the 360, these games are 360 racing classics. Gorgeous and immersive with plenty of online options to keep the replay value high. , Project Gotham Racing 3 strikes an excellent balance between arcade and sim gameplay without alienating fans of either, and everyone will find something to love here.

    Call of Duty 2
    - Call of Duty 2 lets players experience four individual soldier stories as they overcome insurmountable odds in multiple campaigns. It’s by far the best of its kind, and the variable but fair enemy AI keeps the game fresh, especially on higher difficulties. Possibly the best WWII FPS made yet, by one of the best military FPS developers around, Infinity ward. Impressive presentation of World War 2 with fantastic battles and gameplay.

Rainbow Six Vegas, Vegas 2 -
Las Vegas Strip, flashy hotels, high-rolling casinos and world-famous celebrities, becomes the setting for a terrorist threat of global proportions. The cover mechanics, the lethal firearms, the satisfaction of working with a smart team, plus classic single player maps and some returning classics make multiplayer golden. Truly awesome multiplayer online gameplay, and games that may set a benchmark for the tactical genre.

    Burnout Revenge
    - one of the best "arcadey" racing games on the 360, this game is fast, crazy, gorgeous, and with the new modes for online play, a ton of time can be eaten up online and offline as well. Best refinement in the line of Burnout games to date.

    Burnout Paradise -
this game takes the Burnout arcade racing formula and presents it in a new, open-world "Paradise" city. The game revamps the stock formula in major ways without losing most of the high-speed racing flavor that you hope to see from something with Burnout in the title.Instead of a series of self-contained challenges, Paradise offers up an open world where players are free to explore their inner vehicular homocidal maniac to their hearts' content.

    Grid -
Grid is all about the fun and excitement of the race. A fantastic game that bridges the gap of arcade and sim styles of the racing genre. graphics, a great damage-model and the fantastic driving experience that will satisfy fans of simulation as well as arcade racers should definitely convince any car freak!

    Virtua Fighter 5 -
the latest edition of the revered, highly technical 3D fighting game series. If you love fighting games and want to play a fighter that continually unveils new wrinkles day in and day out and rewards dedication like no other, this is the game to get. Great balance and more depth than the majority of other fighting games out there. This game rewards your skill and play with its incredible depth and intracacy; and can be taken online to test y our skills against other.

skate - SKATE delivers the feel of skating through innovative controls, authentic cameras and a fully reactive skateboarding city. SKATE's unique control scheme captures the true feel of skating versus the typical button mashing gameplay of past skating games. Featuring physics-driven animations, gamers will have a unique gaming experience every time they pick up the controller since no two tricks will ever be the same.

    Dead Rising -
Follow the story of Frank, a photojournalist, only to find himself amidst a zombie infestation and trapped in a local shopping mall to fight off the hordes of undead in any manner he can. The spaced out save points create a wonderfully rare sense of dread. You'll want to stock up on inventory and weapons before attempting a particularly difficult passage. And you're not always secure whether you're going to make it. This is where Dead Rising's sandbox zombie killing comes into its own.

    Dead Space
    - In Dead Space, take the role of Isaac Clarke – a man on a routine mission to fix the comm systems aboard a space mining ship, until he learns that the ship's crew has been ravaged by a vicious alien infestation. He must fight through the dead silence and darkness of deep space to stay alive. It's easily the best survival horror game since the masterful "Resident Evil 4" and it sets the bar high for graphics, sound, and scares in its respective genre. Dead Space is an artistic nightmare clearly designed for survival horror fans by a passionate and dedicated team of like-minded gamers.

    Viva Pinata
    - Viva Pinata is a customizable, social and spontaneous game that invites players of all ages and skills to explore an immersive world where they are challenged to create and maintain a living garden ecosystem that grows in real time. Beginning with a few basic tools, players build and take control of their environment to attract and host more than 60 species of wild pinata, utilizing hundreds of customizable elements to create their very own distinctively unique thriving paradise. Viva Pinata gameplay continues to evolve with new content available via the Xbox Live service and the ability to play, trade and interact with more than 2 million gamers via the online service.

    Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
    - Viva Pinata was a great game with an interesting and addicting gameplay direction, but Trouble in Paradise is a great reinvention of this title, not quite a complete sequel. Teaching your piñatas tricks, playing co-op with a friend, romancing piñatas, having the ability to trade piñatas with players online and much more make up countless reasons to pick up and have a wonderful time with one of Rare’s best Xbox 360 titles to date.

    Devil May Cry 4
    - In Devil May Cry 4, players control the formidable Nero who comes to grips with his newly found power as his beliefs and allegiance are tested. Continuing the legacy of fast paced action synonymous with the series, Devil May Cry 4 pushes the envelope of excellence even further with the inclusion of a new combat system that incorporates Nero's "Devil Bringer". This new feature has players delivering overwhelming damage to enemies with non-stop combos, while gaining new power for Nero's right arm.

    Ace combat 6
    - Online for the first time, via Xbox Live, players can experience Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation on a massive worldwide scale as it features an in-depth multi-player online experience that includes a variety of action-packed online modes. Players fight alongside fighter planes, gun ships, attack helicopters, tanks, naval fleets, heavy bombers, and electronic warfare vessels in the ultimate Ace Combat showdown. The Dynamic Operation System provides for massive battles unfolding on a "living battlefield," as up to six independent land, sea or air conflicts can break out at any time at multiple locations as allies and enemies clash in real-time. The most solid, robust, and realistic Ace Combat game yet. Even if you're not into playing online, Fires of Liberation offers a hearty helping of intense, varied combat that will keep you coming back long after you've completed your first campaign.

    Tales of Vesperia
    - Set in a world reliant on a mysterious ancient technology known as "blastia," the game follows former knight Yuri as he delves into a shadowy plot to use these magical devices to control civilization, or destroy it. Tales of Vesperia is a strong anime-style Japanese RPG with a wide-ranging story, compelling characters and an intense real-time battle system that keeps you on your toes.If gads of dialog, characters that ooze personality and freer form combat sounds like an RPG delight to you, then order up Tales of Vesperia pronto.

    Ghost Recon Adv. Warfighter (series)
    - In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System (IWS), evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. An achievement in tactical first person shooters. Ubisoft did a great job balancing the intense action on the screen with the high tech gadgetry needed to make it through in one piece.

    Battlefield: Bad Company
    - Good single and solid multiplayer experience. Features destructible environments that actually play a role in gameplay.; mowing down trees with a turret, creating your own side entrance to a heavily fortified base, or ripping open a building to get at the enemies inside are all endlessly fun. Multiplayer kicks things back up, however, by incorporating all of the great destruction and vehicle elements into satisfying attack and defend battles over gold crates scattered throughout the eight huge maps. The five character classes all offer unique weapon combos, and the constantly shifting battlefield dynamics offer plenty of incentive to regularly change your kits.

    Far Cry 2
    - Caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa, you are sent to take out "The Jackal," a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. Far Cry 2 is this year's equivalent of Assassin's Creed... when it comes to enveloping the player in exotic sights and sounds. By adopting a laissez faire attitude to player discretion, Ubisoft has crafted a brilliant follow-up. It requires time, patience and dedication; some will be frustrated with the long car trips - avoidable - while others will struggle with the excessive freedom. Nevertheless the little objections that can be made disappear compared to its virtues. This video game is technically impeccable, it offers a very interesting multiplayer mode, and is equipped with a campaign that should appear in the dictionary under the words intensity and immersion.

    Fable II
    - Set 500 years after the original, Fable II provides gamers with an epic story and innovative real-time gameplay, including a massive amount of freedom and choice to explore a vast collection of dungeons, catacombs and caves in the world of Albion. This sequel basically takes all of the best assets of the first game, and improves on all of them greatly. Few game worlds have feel quite so alive as Fable 2, where many paths are open, but all choices have consequences. Accessible and endlessly adaptive, it's a boundary-pushing experience that players will still be exploring long after the hype has faded. It’s a charming and stunning game that should occupy about 20 hours of a gamer’s time with up to 50 hours of side-quests, odd jobs, and real-estate purchasing available. In closing, Fable 2 seems to be a light hearted, witty, casual role-playing game offering you more of an experience than an actual challenge.

    Prince of Persia
    - Set in a land rooted in ancient Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness; the Prince must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption. It's not very long but it's long enough, as it will entail around 10-14 hours of continuous platforming and fighting, even if you don't try to pick up the 1001 Seeds of Light. The flow and excitement of the gameplay as well as the dramatic visual style will get you hooked for hours to come. While the virtues of the control mechanics and gameplay are up for debate, the value of the presentation and production are not. A stirring orchestral score is the perfect accompaniment to the breathtaking environmental backdrops. Even if there’s no particular reason for it, Prince of Persia is a fun romp through a desert temple. The parkour-heavy gameplay looks impressive and is satisfying without being too frustrating.

    Mirror's Edge -
an interesting First Person Platformer, take the role of a high-speed "parkour" and traverse a wide cityscape engaging intense fights and fast paced chases. Combine a thoroughly entertaining single-player campaign with a stunning and challenging time trial mode and you'll soon forget that you managed to run through the story in six hours or less. There's depth here that you'll only discover hours into time trialling a single stage, which is where the game truly shines. It's a fun single player game, if short, and the story may not be anything special; but it's still fun and gameplay/replay value are best found in Time Trials. There are at least a few new levels available as DLC as of now as well.

Also good games but maybe not "must have":

    Saints Row 2
    - Saints Row 2 is set years after the original Saints Row in a Stilwater both familiar and strange - and now it's time to take back the city that has forgotten him. A great sandbox game with very well down storytelling. Saints Row 2 is also over-the-top. There are quite possibly no other games that can come close to the sheer number of explosions, bullets, murder, and vulgarity on tap here. Add on an engaging multiplayer mode and seamless co-op and you have a great modern sandbox game. More of the same, but it’s got to be bigger, better, faster, and louder.

    Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
    - Throughout their adventure, players create their own abilities by building vehicles for Banjo to pilot over land, water and air. Vehicle parts are earned and collected throughout the game. Players use their imagination to combine parts in any order to create whatever vehicle they choose. LOG's challenges have one goal, but players' choice of vehicle and tactics determine how they get there. You can play through the adventure alone in the single-player campaign, or play with friends in competitive or cooperative challenges on your own or in teams. The combination of a surprisingly lengthy single-player game and a robust multiplayer mode make this one game that just about anyone can enjoy. While the challenges get a little repetitive, the ability to create and operate custom vehicles -- both online and off -- make Nuts & Bolts a unique, entertaining spin on the everyday platformer. It's great to see Banjo this well, as Nuts & Bolts is really funny, but the new gameplay is something users must get used to. Brainless car racing, engaging vehicle creation and plenty of fun are its main values.

    Assassin's Creed
    - The first game in the Assassin's Creed franchise is set in 1191 AD, when the Third Crusade was tearing the Holy Land apart. Shrouded in secrecy and feared for their ruthlessness, the Assassins intend to stop the hostilities by suppressing both sides of the conflict. As Altair, you travel the large cities of old using advanced platforming gameplay mechanics to run, jump, and climb on almost anything to get to your destination. A fun game with decent platforming/action elements and a deep and interesting story. Great production values.

    Earth Defense Force 2017
    - his arcade-style third-person shooter equips players with an extensive arsenal of diverse weapons, pilotable vehicles and loyal teammates in order to defeat a wide variety of attackers ranging from gigantic ants and spiders to robots and monsters standing more than 20 stories tall. If you can get past the goofy presentation and dig into the massive, non-stop, fast paced battles, then you'll definitely consider this to be $40 well-spent.

    Dead or Alive 4
    - the latest and greatest of Team Ninja's casual fighting game series, this game takes the series' graphics and simple yet rewarding gameplay to new heights, especially when played online in a pretty unique and innovative "arcade like" online mode.

b- A very good "GTA-like" game; Enforce justice by any means necessary in a crime-ridden urban center built to encourage the exploration of the full width, depth, and height of the city. Great action and unique and deep character and gameplay mechanics, this is a great yet fairly unique game that works in a GTA-like manner yet manages to provide a gameplay variety of its own.

    Blue Dragon
    - Blue Dragon is an epic role-playing game that centers on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends. These unlikely heroes possess the power to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters, giving Shu and his comrades miraculous strength and magical powers.Shu and his friends must use the shadows as weapons and wield their skills to save their world from impending doom. This is a game that JRPG fans have been waiting for; If you love the Final Fantasy brand, but don’t own a Playstation system then this one is for you.

    Lost Odyssey
    - Lost Odyssey is the story of Kaim, an immortal character who has lived more than 1,000 years. He doesn't remember his past, and he doesn't know where his future lies.If you’re a fan of traditional role-playing games, or love games with an endearing story then you will likely fall in love with the dynamic intimacy Lost Odyssey provides. Great traditional JRPG experience.

Condemned Criminal Origins, and Bloodshot - Condemned:
Criminal Origins allows players to experience a heightened level of psychological tension as they use their instincts, forensic tools, and melee combat to hunt serial killers and bring them to justice. It's a unique and fun first person take on the survival horror/mystery genre.

    Rockstar Table Tennis
    - A fantastic work of easy to learn, difficult to master gameplay. Table Tennis is a seemingly simple concept, and yet is expansive in the level of depth and strategy when playing the game; whether against other players/friends together, or against people online. Fantastic graphics, excellent physics, and addicting deep gameplay.

    Bully SE
    - The Xbox 360 version retain the wit and deep gameplay of the previously released PS2 title "Bully" and boasts additional new content and improved graphics. If you're a fan of witty and humourous writing and excellent open-ended/sandbox gameplay, this is another great option from Rockstar, the makers of Grand Theft Auto.

    Unreal Tournament 3
    - an extremely traditional entry into the Unreal Tournament franchise, this game stays true to its roots by delivering the traditional fast-paced, arcadey, twitch-action first person shooter gameplay that the series has been known for; packaged in the beautiful Unreal Engine 3. If you like fast paced twitch shooters such as prior Unreals or Quakes, you'll probably like this one.

    Too Human
    - As the Cybernetic God Baldur, you get thrust into the midst of an ongoing battle that threatens the existence of mankind. The looting and leveling is incredibly addictive, and if you dig a little bit you'll find a surprising amount of depth in the combat and customization systems. Although some players may find the gameplay repetitive and somewhat easy,, overall the game is very well done and is a good action-RPG for the system.

    Virtua Tennis 3
    - the latest and greatest game in Sega's Virtua tennis series, this game takes the series' realism to new heights, both with its graphics system, animation system, physics system, and variety and depth of controls and moves. Has a great Career and Player creation mode.

    Guitar Hero World Tour
    - Sequel to the popular guitar rhythm games, World Tour takes everything that was great about Guitar Hero 3, and expands the series into the full band experience territory by providing a cool new drumset, with cymbals, and microphone for vocals, along with an improved guitar with guitar-tapping touch frets. A great set list and solid gameplay. Great recommendation for Guitar Hero fans, and fans of this genre. Cross compatible with Rock Band instruments, so you don't have to buy another set of plastic drums or guitars if you already own, and/or prefer Rock Band.

I've heard Blue Dragon is fun, but I'm hesitant to try it because I loathe and abhor scatalogical humour, and I hear Blue Dragon has a lot of poop jokes. Just a warning in case you feel similarly. :)

I don't remember any poop jokes as such, but there is a race of cutesy poop based monsters who occasionally show up in random battles. Here's an example:

So, this seems like an appropriate thread.. Everybody recommends the hell outta castle crashers. What is the difficulty curve of it? I'd like to play it with my girlfriend but she is really not a gamer in any way. I got her Puzzle Quest and all the Lucasarts adventures, but I'd love to step her up to something a little more contemporary.

It's pretty accessible to anyone I'd think. There are a few areas where it feels cheap.. like playing the lava levels with the red knight. He gets absolutely raped in there.

But it's mostly a button masher so I think anyone should be able to get through it. If you do it co-op the game scales up the enemies a little bit, but it is still easier because you can cover for each other.

But there's also a chance that a new player will hate button mashing. So try the demo? :)

For Castle Crashers, just think of the old TMNT Arcade Game, Streets of Rage, or any other of the button mashing beat em ups. It's really fun, super simple, and cute enough that even chicks are into it.
