With all the free content for TF2 on the PC I highly doubt Valve is trying to rip anyone off, but I do think that they are in the console market for the money. L4D was actually a good game on the console and is a terrific option if you have friends with a 360 or a not so great PC. The Orange Box is still a great deal on the console it is just that TF2 is not a console game, it does not work with the set up at all. Everything else in the package does though so is it still a bad deal? I do not think so, but I would still never buy it on the console since I am a PC gamer first.

Okay wait thought about it a bit more.

Obscure bullshit like not touching these 4 chests in order to get the super ultra weapon and not telling anybody about it is fine. Nothing wrong with it.(FF12)

Fights which you're meant to lose, which you always lose, which you might use up all your items or magic or whatever and still lose and they never even hint at it are also fine.

KOTOR 2, as is, with its shitty ending in all its glorious shittiness, is better than KOTOR 1.

There is nothing wrong with Raiden in MGS, as a character. Rose can die in a fire, however. I'm sure the second part, at least, is not an unpopular opinion.

There is nothing wrong with gaming apparel, any more than there is anything wrong with sports apparel, or really any kind of accessory, clothing, or piece of gear that advertises a hobby.

Popular (or critically acclaimed) games I hate:

Fable (haven't played 2 yet, not necessarily eager to do so)
Every MegaMan after III (except for maybe the first Megaman X)
    Portal
    Half-Life/Half-Life 2
    Halo series
    Call of Duty series
Oblivion (I loved Morrowind but Oblivion has problems)
Grand Theft Auto (all of 'em)
    Ninja Gaiden (new ones)
    Vagrant Story
    Ico
    Xenogears
    Gears of War
    Splinter Cell series
    Rainbow Six series
    God of War series

Next up, games that are part of a series but are overrated (or underrated)

    Chrono Cross > Chrono Trigger
    Suikoden III > Suikoden II
Final Fantasy X >>>>> Final Fantasy VII
Every other Burnout >>>>>>>> Burnout Paradise (seriously, the open world bullshit isn't what I want out of a Burnout game)

    And some general callouts here:

Capcom, screw you and your shitty puzzles in Resident Evil 4. Similarly, fuck you for enemies that I have to do special bullshit to kill---and as an addendum fuck you for inspiring that terrible Berzerker fight in Gears of War.

Stop including bullshit stealth missions in games not based around it. There's a reason I hate Splinter Cell guys, get it out of my damn RPG's.

Even despite its' repetitiveness and general staleness, the Samurai Warriors/Orochi Warriors series is the only action series I can stand to play anymore.
I think you should add "souls" to this this list. Because obviously you hate souls too much to have your own if you truly hate every game on this list. Some of them, ok. Most of them, possible. All of them? It's like you play games because you hate yourself.

That's how I look at it. They figured it wouldn't be too hard to port over to the 360, did it, and then they got upset that Microsoft has standards for quality that they want developers to meet. Thus, certification and charging developers for updates. The only reason that the 360 isn't getting the same treatment as the PC is because Valve is simply not that concerned with making sure the non-PC version isn't screwed up. It's not like it's their traditional userbase so if they mess it up, no big. 360 players aren't generally going to be hanging around the Valve message boards to rip on Valve for not fixing the game so Valve can just ignore them. They already got their money anyway.

Also, there are plenty of folks who detest dicking around with a PC to play a new game and so they pick up the console ports of PC games. Console players shouldn't feel like their being punished because they decided to pick a nice, stable system to play on.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Sector, more so than Gears of War and its sequel.

The best action game to date has been the Ninja Gaiden series. Devil May Cry may have done it first, but Ninja Gaiden did it better.

I loved GTAIV and Mercs 2.

Far Cry 2, while immense, is probably the most disappointing experience I've had yet. Plays like a half finished STALKER.

Vegas 2 was better than CoD4 multiplayer wise. After a few months of CoD4 I was irritated by the lack of precision with sniping, the uber powerful M16, and the fact that every foul mouthed fifteen year old on Xbox Live had Martyrdom equipped.

The Unreal series hasn't been worth money since 1999, UT2K4 was a decent attempt but felt like it was too busy trying to bustle in all the features they lack in UT2K3.

SD Gundam G Generation is the best SRPG series made, Super Robot Taisen is a close second.

I like Dynasty Warriors and all the spin-offs.

Mass Effect is probably the only Bioware game I've enjoyed.

Upon replay, Killer7 reminds me too much of some guy that caught Mullohand Drive on cable late one night in a different language and tried to make something as strange and unique as Lynch, all while missing the nuances that made it brilliant in the first place.

Rez is quite possibly the perfect game. It's sublime, I enjoy every moment I play it, and despite having seen all the game has to offer I feel myself coming back time and time again to play it.

I find all MMOs boring. The atmosphere may be there, but usually the community is shit and I'm paying ten to fifteen dollars a month to work a second job.

Operation Flashpoint is the best FPS ever made. ArmA is a poor pretender that looks slightly prettier and has tacticool guns.

Because Burnout Paradise released free content on PSN because of a deal with Sony.

And Microsoft have terms which means that content on XBL cannot cost more if it is available on a rival console for free I think.

So it had to be free.

Not sure if PC counts in this, I doubt it because PC has far far more free content overall.

EA do not publish Valve games.

Valve are in the EA partners program.

Bottom line : EA just print the discs for them and ship it to stores. No other control other than a share of the profits to cover their costs. Which Valve have praised actually.

hoo boy, here's some good ones:

    -I enjoyed FF8
-I found Bioshock boring due to the lack of any difficulty whatsoever (come on, you can just die-spawn-kill anything in the game). I was really dissapointed when I found there to be almost no RPG elements whatsoever.
-I cannot STAND halo games. I've tried to like them. I have forced myself to complete both 1 and 2. I just couldn't take it after that. I refuse to play 3 because I've no reason to believe it's any different from 1 and 2.
-I think the PS3 is the better of the 2 HD systems and yes, I have a 360. I also have most of the important exclusives (Dead Rising, Gears of War, NG2, Mass Effect among others).
-The new Prince of Persia was boring
-Gears of War was one of the most boring and dull single player experiences I've ever played in my entire life.
-I prefer the PSP to the DS
-I liked Twilight Princess a lot
-I really disliked Saints Row 2 (was especially dissapointed after such a glowing review from everyone I've talked to about it and Yahtzee). I feel GTA4 was the better game. It just *felt* better.
-and finally, I have the Wii and I hate it. I've got 2 games for it and never play them. They're good games, but I completed them and now feel done with the entire system as a whole.

I will always believe that Final Fantasy VII more or less suckered a bunch of gamers into buying it because of the commercials that relied on CG, it really wasn’t that great a game aside from the music, Cloud was pretty unlikeable and at the rate he is going will certainly lose his penis for a vagina soon enough, but then that could be said of 80% of Squares so called men that might as well as run around wearing dresses considering how they look. Considering how males are made to be so effeminate over in Japan I’m starting to see why they have one of the worse sex lives ratings in the world despite being perverted as hell.

MGS2 does deserve all the hate and annoyance that it got as backlash after it turns out we got a twat like Raiden as a main character, the story went completely out of control which shows that someone needed to keep Hideo on his meds but dropped the ball. Like Lucas or Spielberg his lunacy can hamper a much product unless it’s reined in.

Valve does get more kudo’s than it deserves all things considering although their games are pretty good. Just not as good or godly as some claim.

Halo 2 & 3 were pretty underwhelming and overall should not be selling as well as it has but then it fits the racist swearing userbase rather well on Live.

Jean D’Arc is a much better game than Final Fantasy Tactics.

    MGS4 - Raiden still sucks.

Having played GTA III, GTA: Vice City and then skipping the next installment until GTA IV came out I got to say....I liked it. It was the only one I cared enough to complete and while the reviews for it were laughable and showed a huge lack of integrity in the media the backlash from the fans was just as bad.

You know I cant help but feel Rockstar missed a legendary opportunity with GTA4.

First 4 or 5 hours is the same, and then at like the point where you're chasing that dude something huge happens. Like a nuclear explosion levels manhattan, or even better some infection turns everyone into a zombie. Or basically Independence Day happens with a mile wide spaceship.

It would be a total mindfuck but at least it would prevent the game from being creatively starved. Because really, GTA4 while having fun mechanics was thematically a Sopranos fanfic.

Every Battlefield game after 1942 sucks (not counting Desert Combat mod). The sudden enhancement to the realism factor made them boring as shit to play. Desert Combat was seriously the best online FPS ever. It allowed you to think an plan out actions, as well as have spazzy firefights. Everything else out there now is all about who has the least laggy connection/machine and best reaction time.

I got bored a few hours into Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Resident Evil 4.

Twilight Princess is not only better than OoT, it's the best Zelda period.

The most fun part of Starcraft and Warcraft III were the custom games. On this subject, DotA became shit after the hero counter went above 10 or so.

Final Fantasy XII felt like playing an MMO by myself. Possibly ironic since I play MMOs, but not by myself. The license board was also a very stupid idea.

Kingdom Hearts II is a fun game to play, but the concept is retarded. On the other hand, Kingdom Hearts 1 is just plain bad.

My favorite expansion of Everquest was Shadows of Luclin.

Diablo II is insanely overrated. Kind of fun to play with friends for a while, but loses the novelty very quickly. People who have played it since release and are still doing so seriously need mental help.

    All I got right now.

I have thoroughly enjoyed, and continue to enjoy Hellgate: London!
    ... in singleplayer!
... I now prefer it over Diablo II! D:

I'll show myself to the door now...
