Hello moderators and members, this is my first post to the forum.
I've been a reader of Penny Arcade for ~2 years, and recently had my heart touched by stories of the Child's Play charity. (And now that I'm 18 I wish to donate) Now, I'm under the impression that Child's Play is 100% Penny Arcade founded, and run, yet I found only a small box hidden at the bottom of the page linking to the charity. Why in the world wouldn't you take more pride in such a huge success? There should be a Child's Play tab right along the top of the screen where "Comic, Archive, Forum, PA Presents, Pax, Store" currently are.
As soon as I get some credit room again next month (damn 500 dollars for books :x) I'll be donating 50 dollars to the charity, however, I'd love to do it from a fresh, proud link at the top of the main page.
Ryan

No one here, besides Robert Khoo, has any control over the site.
Ah.. and in that case the chances of him reading this are likely pretty slim.
Thanks bud.
Actually Robert Khoo may well check this if it shows up on Robert Khoo's name search that Robert Khoo periodically does to check out threads where people have mentioned Robert Khoo so you could be in luck.
Welcome to the forums. I think it is kind of polite of them not to throw the 'rawr donate money!' link all over the front page, but I think a little link on the top of the page would be very appropriate. So yes good suggestion, hopefully Robert Khoo notices this thread soon, Robert Khoo Robert Khoo Robert Khoo.

No! You've opened the box of Pankhoora!
It is a risk I am willing to take for the greater Khoo...d.

Believe me my friend I'd hate for them to blab that all over too. I'm not even talking about a link directly to a donation page, but simply a more appropriately placed link to the charity's main page. To be honest the first time I wanted to find Child's Play I had to search it in google (even though it only took 2 seconds) because I didn't think to look at the bottom of the page for it. >.>

I think it's partialy that they don't want to beat visitors over the head with it (smart), and quite honestly want to keep the two businesses seperate for several reasons. One being that some people might be put off the charity because of the regular site, even those in the industry. I thought Gabe or even Khoo said something to that affect last(?) year in a news post.

Yeah, I think this is pretty close. While it is true that the same guys who make jokes about punching babies for a living also help millions of hospitalised children, putting those two things together so blatantly isn't the best marketing strategy for the charity. If you want to show people the charity, point them to http://www.childsplaycharity.org instead, and it's not like it's not heavily promoted in gaming media.
There's also the fact that G&T are incredibly modest about it.

@vgreminders - Don't miss out on timed events in gaming! @gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!

That's one of my favourite parts about the yearly Childs Play drive, especially how moved they sound when talking about it in the news posts. There's no bravado about it. They had a good idea, ran with it, and seem to be genuinely moved each year with how generous the gaming community is with their time, money and resources.

So this may seem odd, but we know our promotion of Child's Play may seem a bit muted, but it's actually on purpose. We know that Penny Arcade is a bit of polarizing site, so we have our fair share of people that think we're doing CP for our own gain. So yeah, there's a reason you won't see any links back from the CP site to the PA main site, nor will you see us try to flaunt the fact we're running the charity - we just want to make sure no one can say "WOW NICE PR STUNT GUYS."
Sad but true!
But luckily the industry and community has really embraced the cause, so its promotion has never been an issue.

I believe they're still paying off the punching of a baby and flipping off of a box of kittens. The last thing they need to do is lengthen their penance.

I've seen some that'd be happy with 20K, and you're all like "Pft I got that in my wallet bitches."
That reeks.
