Help! 8800gt troubleshooting

AccualtAccualt Registered User regular
Last night I shut off my computer and everything was fine. I was loving life playing the DoW II beta all night.

This afternoon I turn my PC on everything seems fine. Normal boot menu, loading screens, blah-blah. But when my desktop normally comes up my screen went black and said signal not found. I start fiddling with the monitor cable, unplug it and move it to the second output on my 8800gt. This brings up my desktop but at a low resolution. When I go into options to change the resolution the highest option is 1024x768 yet my monitor's native resolution (and what I always ran it at) is 1680x1050. :(

I tried installing the newest Nvidia drivers but that didn't help. I'm rather at a loss and your help would be much appreciated.

    Try this?

Not entirely sure, but I'd place more blame on the monitor than the card, especially if you can't even name it. Do you have another display lying around (or can be borrowed) to test?

Nevermind. I got it working...but don't ask me how because I haven't a clue. Thank you for your help.
