Tuning in my N64?

Hey guys!

I recently got my PAL N64, and I've got it hooked up all properly. The video/sound cabel is clearly old; it's the same type of cable I use for my TV channels (I live in a dorm of sorts). It's got one male pin inside it and is formed in a circular fashion. So I've hooked it up, I'm assuming that the TV will somehow find and recognize the signal. And it does when I auto-tune, it goes past a channel with it several time but does not recognize it as one and somehow ignores it. I've tried doing it manually. I just can't find the channel it's on. I've got a "old" Thomson TV, not a flatscreen, if that helps any. I'm using a universal remote.

Thank you so much for any help you're able to give!

These rigs typically are set to channel 2, 3, or 4.

Go to one of those manually.

None of those channels had any of the images that I was getting when the TV was cruising past all the channels or whatever it did.

It clearly showed a clear picture from the N64 too, it just didn't recognize it as a channel .. I've searched every single channel but haven't found anything. Would it help if I bought an Scart cable? Can I use that on a PAL system?

Edit: I read up on the net, and it seems like I can use a Gamecube Scart, so I went ahead and bought. This will allow me to plug it into the back of the TV and fire it up in one of the AV channels, right?
