I still haven't touched OG2 since within three weeks of it coming out.
I made the stupid mistake of going for BMs right off the bat. Six BMs in, and the seventh battle is a slaughter.
DON'T GIVE UP! I DIDN'T, AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU! BELIEVE IN ME, WHO BELIEVES IN YOU!
I still have no idea how the fuck I managed to get through the game the first time around while attempting battle masteries. I didn't even make use of stuff like Stun Shot and Armor Breaker. One thing I did learn from EX-Hard, though. Prioritize upgrading your mechs over your weapons.
...Just don't overdo it. A lot of Battle Masteries in EX-Hard were impossible for me to get.
MX Portable? It's the easiest one of them all, and it's SO goddamn slow even I couldn't believe it after I got back to it a couple weeks ago during vacation. Still a fun game.
I heard the load times were bad but I thought they increased the difficulty for the PSP version?
Don't see how the hell load times would do such a thing.
Serves me right for writing a message early in the morning.
"They" was supposed to be the developers.
They made the game harder than the original PS2 version.

They upped the enemy's HP by a decent percentage.
Also, it took me this long to realize that Gilliam's moveset in OG1 is pretty much what Ingram's was.
Fuck the early Cosmolions, they still maintain 40-50% accuracy against Focus'd units. The game is a fair bit easier now, Battle Masteries give +5PP to everyone and bosses that retreat under a certain percent are cake.
I really hope Atlus translates the game, it's choke full of goodies like a unit and character gallery with descriptions, including every varient of a same unit.

Hey! E3 is in just a few days, hopefully Atlus (or NIS who i've heard are also vying for the game) will have a big announcement.

Just got the Armorlion, what an awesome unit. Armor that surpasses the Gigan, good mobility, strong single and ALL weapons. On top of that it allows to shuffle pilots around a bit more than before.
The lessened difficulty is a pretty good thing, I can see myself replaying OGS much more due to the fact I don't have to abuse the soft-reset quite as much and still aim for all the battle masteries.
I always end up having to fully power down and power back on because I can't get L+R+Start+Select to work
That's because you're trying the DS game soft reset. You have to use the GBA soft reset for GBA games, which is A+B+Start+Select. It's partially software based so it depends on the cart, not the system (ie, Yggdra Union has soft reset take you to a screen where you choose to reset the game or just restart the current map).

ooooooooooooooooooooooooh. thanks god, I can't believe I'd forgotten that
I don't know how many of you have seen this, but after wtaching this I have come to two conclusions. There is either (A) a way to unlock all of Dygenguards original attacks (Dynamic knuckle, General Blaster, and Guardian sword) or (B) This is the work of cheaters! Either way it's a cool all attack video.

Wow, the Compact 3 Originals are quite nice. The blue one with the swords makes me think of RahXephon a bit. I'm hoping that Banpresto put them in OGs as a sort of test, to see if fans would like them in OG3. And they can count me as a definate "yes!" to that proposition.
Also, what the heck do I do with the spare Gespenst and Messer I have? Can I just leave them alone or should I upgrade them slowly to avoid being screwed over at a later date?

Once you get better mechs, your spare garage will grow. It's inevitable, and there's really no reason to go back to them. Unless you want a challenge or just want to have fun playing with pimped out Gespies. Each of them, at least in OG2, has a different full tune bonus.
When you are slapped with a 12 pilot limit, secondary pilots like Russel, Katina, Rhada, Giado and Garnet tend to be shoved off your roster :P
They all have at least some use, but that means less killy-killy pilots on the map.
Russel is indispensible. If you can, never avoid making use of him. He's easily THE most cost-effective healer in the game. Put him in something with a long movement range and teach him Mechanic, Resupply, Guard, SP Regen, and Focus. He'll be able to fix people up far better than normal, resupply people after moving, take even less damage than usual, and be able to regenerate his SP to make full use of his incredibly cheap Guard, Faith, and Rouse.

He might not be awesome, but he's got your back.
This is clearly OG2 Russel. Any differences from OG1 Russel?

Not too sure myself. I've been using the hell out of him in OGS's OG1 campaign, which isn't too different aside from the use of Twin Battle System and special ammo.
Russell was actually my best tank in OG1 in a dinky little grey Schutzwald, all the way up until the very end. His insane Defense stat makes for mondo damage reduction, and with Guard, Prevail, Support, and lots of armor bonuses, he's taking hits like a champ and getting back up to speed the next turn with a nice ol' Trust.
I'd spoof out the enemy AI by using the Schutzwald's low HP and massive Armor when upgraded, so they'd always target Russell. In turn, his fully-upgraded Twin Beam Cannon would provide nice smiting power at 7 range.
For OG1 in OGs, is it safe to assume the skill list is exactly the same as the GBA game? Trying to figure out which one of the skills is Concentration so I can do some SP cost reduction.

Also, after playing OGs for many hours, I now see the awesome pair that is Tasuku and Giganscudo.
So... It's BM system is like @2 and @3...

What's all this now...
I've played it for a bit.
Sanger is truely the manliest of men.

The planes are only good for Refuel/Repair bitches like Russel and Garnet.

Yeah. I found that just after I'd posted.

Damn. I guess we're not getting any more OG games stateside.
In other news, Rampage Ghost!
Um... what would the Orginal Generation OVAs coming out to the states have to do with not getting any more of the games?
With Bandai Visual licensing the anime, it's likely they'll force a licensing fee for the game.
The same thing anime licensing-companies owning the licenses for Eva, Macross, Gundam, Nadesico etc. has to do with the Alphas not getting the Alphas.
Dosn't Banpresto own the rights and have the final say?
I thought that had more to do with so many different companies owning the licencing rights.
That and combined with the fact that licensed games are fuck-expensive.
Meaning Bandai-visual would charge Atlus out the ass to bring that game over.
