animated films never get best picture
because they have best animated film, because there's no way a cartoon could be better than a live action film
don't get me started

my understanding is that it's a pretty pedestrian holocaust movie
so its nomination is unsurprising but still disappointing
For me, I'd say Ironman or Wall*E was the Best Picture this year.
I am also used to the idea that my opinions are generally not quite in sync with the Accadamy, so I am not surprised to not see them there.
Illegal gambling?
For shame
(hundred bucks on slumdog winning best picture)

Del Toro has disappointed my twice in a row now.
Most of them came out in 09 for us!
that's like betting on the undertaker to win at wrestlemania
i thought wall-e had a chance because it was so original and subversive and not at all what i think of when i think of big budget animated features. that was a movie with balls.
We do this every year, just to see who can correctly pick the most winners.

Did they not even SEE this?
I bet the sleeper hold will work against Hulk Hogan this time and he won't suddenly come back with a burst of energy at 2 and 1/2 counts.

you trolling the dark knight aside it doesn't matter who was better than heath, he's dead, he's getting the oscar
this is how things work
that is a much less safe bet
I know!
I've been putting off watching slumdog millionaire, I guess I should go see it
